The Ultimate Visual History (June 2014)

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but with 184 pages this book could be interesting:

I'll wait until the reviews are in, but if it actually lives up to its lofty aspirations, then it ought to be worth owning.

CyberCubed 12-05-2013 02:34 PM

The fact that it has 4kids Turtles on the cover is an instant buy.

John Pannozzi 12-05-2013 03:20 PM

This was already revealed, but it was originally going to called TMNT: Radical Mutations. I suppose this title is better. And I consider this a must-have.

Ninjinister 12-05-2013 03:21 PM

This thing's been in production for a while, hasn't it?

funatic 12-05-2013 03:58 PM

nitpicking, but I wish they had swapped Mike and Don for their respective series incarnations on the cover. I think those characters would be more emblematic of those specific series. Book itself sounds like it has a lot of potential - can't wait for more details!

Powder 12-05-2013 06:28 PM

Sweet cover. I agree with Funatic, but it's a minor quip. I actually contributed some stuff to this book. ;) Can't wait for it!

Roseangelo 12-05-2013 07:20 PM

Yes, this should be a pretty solid representation of TMNT history by the time it's published.

CyberCubed 12-05-2013 08:28 PM

It's sad in the description they say the Turtles slipped out of fashion but were kept alive by new comics and cartoons. What a disgusting way to crap on Image/Volume 4 and the 4kids cartoon.

You are actually making up a reason to hate on something you haven't even read yet. S.T.F.U.

Aggred. Heck, we sure they aren't talking the post Next Mutation lull?

Dawnatello Turtle Chick 12-05-2013 10:26 PM

This is definitely going to be a must-own for me as well!!! I just wish is was coming out sooner... but it will be a nice bit of excitement to tide us over until the movie comes out! Because whether you love it or hate it (already?) we all are curious to know how the movie turns out. The book, however, looks like it will be stellar. Very stoked!

For the record, I've actually read a proof of this book, and I can assure you that CyberCubed is making up crap to crap on.

Saying those things kept the turtles alive sounds like a good thing to me. Disgustingly good.

Except they weren't.

CyberCubed 12-06-2013 09:34 AM

Judging by how the Fred Wolf Turtle art looks on the cover, is the same guy doing this as the one who made those horrible 80's TMNT art for Playmates toys and on the Turtles Forever case?

You know the horrible stock art that looks nothing like the actual show?

Tazi 12-06-2013 10:09 AM

Tho the worst one yet is still the art made for Arcade Attack, with hamster headed turtles.

Donatello19 12-06-2013 12:41 PM

Wow, I'm getting that for sure. I always love reading franchise's histories. It's really cool to see the four turtles like that on the cover, one of each incarnation. I agree with what others said about Mike and Don on it, though.
