It's beautiful. :o

Maybe if I had won the lottery.

Not to diminish it as a piece of art, but that auction price is insane. Unless it were molded from scratch or something, but it isn't; it's all paint and decals.

CyberCubed 12-22-2013 10:39 PM

I'd give them maybe $20 tops.

Still six days left. It'll be interesting to see where the price is once that bidding war is over.

Bakushan 12-23-2013 12:23 AM

I am subscribed. I will admit, I made several bids... but $1275... man... im out.

I built my TMNT Arcade from scratch for less than $1000 in parts.

Yeah. But the guy DID rebuild it inside and out, new pin connectors and stuff. He also made the custom plexiglass window which is pretty sweet... lots of work in there. Guy told me there is 8 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear for each color. Many hours of time and attention. There is also 4 custom controllers. :)

Some more pics. :)

zkarlette 12-23-2013 12:49 AM

Man this is cool! But rather expensive.

Eiko 12-23-2013 12:49 AM

Would love that if I had that kind of money to throw around.

Why in the world would he waste his time with 3 coats of clear for each color? It makes no sense as it does nothing for the final product. Unless its a very special paint which requires clear for each color but I doubt it is and it doesn't look to be.

I wonder if the controllers are painted to. I can't see the finish on this holding up at all if played with. They would have been much better of with hydro dipping.

Well this is fine art, so its up to the public to decide and in a now "good days" economy, people have more money to spend. I like the design, but would rather fork that much on a worn first print of Volume 1. The only way I would consider is if I could sell all my other games, but I'd be better off trying to create one myself if I had the patience to do so. I'm still the $100-$200 range is my favorite kind of collectible items; affordable but room to appreciate; that's what I would have paid on this.

It's definitely a cool mod, however it's not worth more than a few hundred dollars at most. I have no idea how this got to more than $400.

Well, when I started bidding it was at $200 or so. Then me and a guy got into it, and went back and forth all the way to $1250.

At $400 or so it stopped being worth it to me... but I hate... hate... hate being beaten. So... as a matter of principle... I bid... and bid... and bid.

Finally I told myself "$1250 is it, if someone wants it more than that, I just dont care anymore!". Sure enough, $1275.

No matter how much money you got someone else has more. Oh well.

Whoever buys it probably won't even use it. It'll be sitting on a shelf in a one bedroom apartment, housing a family of three, who is sleeping in the living room, because the bedroom is housing nothing but "collectible" junk. (Think I'm over-exaggerating, see the documentary Jedi Junkies. It's on Netflix.)

Bit of a generalization...

Had I won it... I would certainly had played it... or even given it away as a prize at a party of on facebook.

I have a 4 bedroom house, a wife, 2 dogs... and a lot of toys. :)

$1275... man... I could not pull the trigger. I appreciate the art and hard work in it though.

Nameless 12-23-2013 11:59 AM

crazy thing is it started at a 0.99 price point. very cool though

Stingray69 12-24-2013 01:07 PM

I think I'm going to have to make one. Just don't know how to make the lighted window decal things. Anyone got any ideas.

dremel out some squares and then use thin lexan for the window. then you can just print clear pictures and stick under (or on top) of the lexan.

Stingray69 12-24-2013 02:02 PM

How do I print a clear pic?

Bmaga123 12-24-2013 02:02 PM

Awesome but way overpriced at 1,275 OMG this thing should of ended less then 500.00. The seller is really lucky probably made 1,200 profit on this thing. :ohwell:
