TMNT and its ridiculous hiatus

http://oi40.tinypic.com/uc27k.jpg

Nick really likes to tick of its turtle fans with these long, drawn-out hiatuses(i think thats the plural form?)

It personally starts to aggravate me that i have to wait so darn long for a new episode. I can only imagine how the child audience feels about seeing a rerun.... It's just as bad as when we had to wait so long for Parasitica to air. How do you guys feel about it?

I'm guessing it annoys you as much as it does me. :tgrumble:

ALSO - Episode 8: "Slash and Jerry" LOL WAT?
i'm guessing it's just a wiki troll. I doubt that is the actual title, but until then we'll find out

It sucks a bit but I don't mind much. It's better not to have it all done in one go, and I personally don't mind a break from having to wake up at 10:58 on Saturday mornings when I've only just gone to sleep 2-3 hours prior.

Technogeek29 12-23-2013 04:05 PM

Considering I watched Young Justice which was 3 times worse. I can handle this we're at most I wait a month instead of watching an episode in June then waiting until January just to see the next episode then another 2 weeks plus for the following episode. Yeah the TMNT hiatus has nothing on Young Justice.

OriginalRaph 12-23-2013 04:28 PM

Considering it's definitely not at as bad as other cartoons I have watched. I look at it with the aspect at least we are getting something. It's definitely better than nothing.

I'm not that upset as many shows are taking a break for the holidays, and people will be doing things with families and having gatherings, so it's not like kids are going to be able to watch TMNT anyway if they have to go somewhere. We can take comfort in the fact that it will come back, though I do hope it won't be a long wait until it does come back.

No, don't assume sh*t about me or anyone. It's normal for any show to take breaks, so get over it.

Roseangelo 12-23-2013 04:59 PM

You obviously never watched LOST.

Bry 12-23-2013 05:12 PM

I'd rather the show have a block of uninterrupted runs with little hiatuses in-between than have new episodes popping up sporadically, or waiting months on end for the season finale. It's pretty commonplace these days, and lets the audience take a breather while knowing when to expect more.

Foot Soldier Clang 12-23-2013 05:25 PM

This just gives me more time to rewatch the episodes that are already out, so it's no big deal.

BabyTurtles 12-23-2013 06:07 PM

Young Justice was worse :) so I'm cool with TMNT :D

MrTMNT2012 12-23-2013 06:37 PM

Lost & Naruto Shippuden have helped me to overcome these hiatuses! :)

NinjaPug 12-23-2013 07:01 PM

I don't consider two months to be a ridiculous hiatus especially over the holidays.

It's almost as if people on this forum never followed any other TV show in their entire life. How is this different than any other show that airs on TV? They can't speed through a season and then have 7 months of reruns.

Except that's totally what they used to do all the time, not all that long ago really. I can remember growing up when a 'season' meant 'here's a batch of episodes that, barring holidays or the President on TV, we'll show one episode a week until we're out of episodes'. I miss those days, a lot.

I can't figure out why they feel compelled to stretch these episodes out over a whole year, it just boggles my mind. I don't mind them taking a break over the holidays of course, but I dunno why it can't come back on sometime in January instead of waiting until February.

bigk4062 12-23-2013 08:58 PM

See, I don't mind too much having a couple of long breaks, what gets me is not knowing when something is coming back on air... ABC for example is doing a winter hiatus for their main shows, but I know when the ones I want to watch are coming back on air... Nick has people searching all over the place trying to figure out what's going on, and THAT annoys me, I work retail and if I know in advance when somethings going on I can tape it (yes I still tape things I don't have a fancy DVR) but if I have no notice then I miss it... I don't think a 'we'll see you on this date' is too much to ask. ;)

I totally agree with the February thing.

Yea that's what I mean - not knowing when the show is going to come back on air. That anticipation makes me go crazy.
Also tbh besides the new digimon show all i have else to look forward to on a saturday is watch a brand new episode lmao. I also know little kids have a lot more other stuff to look forward to compared to us adults haha

Or Mad Men (2 years between seasons).

I don't mind it. Heck, I didn't even watch episodes 3 - 7 until this past week. I like saving up a bunch to watch at once. Cool Slash episode by the way.

OH. MY. GOD. DON'T REMIND ME. ;_;

Seriously, though, I'm not bothered by this at all. I just look at it the way that we're going to get something. (And "Slash and Jerry"? I'm not even sure that is or will be an actual episode...)

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it was vandalism on Wikipedia as usual.

Read TMNT: New Animated Adventures.

Short hiatuses don't bother me. TMNT is a Saturday morning cartoon and doesn't have much in the way of competition that primetime shows geared towards older audiences have. If you think about it, we're lucky to be able to enjoy a show that isn't affected by March Madness or the World Series, because it's a kid show, on in the morning. Whereas, I'm sure, that almost all of the other shows that most of us watch endure the "one, two, skip a few" scheduling. Or worse, the "I don't know where to put it" scheduling (RIP Tron Uprising).

Now skipping the entire month of January, that seems odd to me. A lot of employers (retail and retail-based warehouses) cut some serious hours and people are usually feeling the deep dark void that was once their wallets and therefore are spending more time at home and perhaps relieved to do so after all that worthless, exhausting hustle n' bustle of the holiday season. So you'd figure networks would want to capitalize on that.
