What's your favorite incarnation of The Foot?
I think mine is the first live action film's costumes. Those bug eyes are weird, but interesting. Maybe it's more of a tie because I really like Mirage Vol. 1. The Elite are definitely intimidating.

Hands down the Mirage comics version of the Foot, although the Foots design have for the most part stayed pretty consistent save apparently the new platinum dunes movie. The mirage comics version of the Foot is a bit more, bigger then just being the enemies of the turtles, same as IDW and the new Nick show ( at least until Shredder knew that Splinter was alive).

Mirage by a longshot, as it's really the only version with a more nuanced, non-supervillainous aspect.
|
Mirage & the first film, no question. I really like IDW's designs for the foot too, though they haven't posed much of a threat.
I also have a soft spot for the rainbow squad from Turtles In Time. :tlol: |
Depends overall I like the Mirage, love the design of IDW and I like the Foot Mystics from RTNY in 2k3.
|
I like the 2K3 and IDW versions. Both very cool- though I still have a soft spot for those Foot-bots in the OT, LOL!

As far as designs go? I love them all. I especially get a kick out of the Nicktoon Foot being stylized versions of the movie look.
Best version? Mirage by a long shot. |
Mirage/Image Crew checking in.

the first movie & turtles in time foot soldiers http://spritedatabase.net/files/snes...otSoldiers.png |
^ I'm surprised the multi-colored Foot Soldiers never made their way into the original toon, even if it was just for one episode.

I personally like the video game Foot the best.

From a strictly visual stand point. I like the Nicks/2012 TMNT's foot soldiers. They have a very sleek and stylized look to them. and I like how they are animated to move in that show.
Its mostly visual with me because beyond that, the foot are just a bunch of mooks that are there to get whipped on by the turtles. I like just about any version of the foot soldiers from the robotic brutes in the technodrome, to the troubled inner city youth of the first and second movie. But if we're adding shredder to the mix than it get a little complicated |
The second, third, and fourth NES games since they essentialy are the meat of the enemies in which the Turtles fight. They pack lots of variety with the different color-coded varieties representing different powers, from bearhugging, boomerangs, bombs, knives, snowballs, hammers, sword jumpers, large sticks, rocket bombs, fast jumpers, and that's just the classic Arcade game. In terms of scripted media, the Mirage comics by far since much of the time the Foot must learn to conquer without the presence of Shredder, plus they have more vivid personality/dialogue by far. Fred Wolf was just slapsticky robots, 4kids took a bit of a back seat to Ch'rell and other villians, IDW isn't that threatening, the movies failed to bring them back after the first movie which was well executed, and Nick 's human foot didn't move and with robots now have regressed to their Fred Wolf role.

They have. And in some ways that makes me sad, but I sort of like the reference. I am however annoyed at how little sense it makes. Just give them robot cannons right? The OT foot had laser guns. In general, it is silly to fight with swords when guns are easy to come by and I gladly accept that and suspend disbelief when it comes to the Turtles, The Shredder or his human foot. But if we are using robot, near android technology... JUST GIVE THEM FREAKING GUNS! LASER BEAM GUNS!!! |
My favorite will always be the OT Foot Soldier fail-bots. :fshifty:
|
as fair as how they look i choose the original movie, but i still think i like the OT robots the best overall
