Interesting fact about Episode 34

As you know, the next new TMNT Nick episode is supposed to air this Sunday, Feb. 2, which is episode 34 of the cartoon. Did you know today it's been 10 years since episode 34 of the 4kids cartoon first aired on 1/31/04 (Secret Origins Part 3, the one where the turtles find out Shredder is an Utrom)?

So Episode 34 of the Nick cartoon is first airing almost exactly 10 years after Episode 34 of the 4kids cartoon first aired, the only difference is 2 days.

Cool, I guess.

Jeez! That makes me feel old! Ten years? Wow.

BubblyShell22 02-01-2014 08:05 AM

Pretty interesting fact for sure.

Aaronardo 02-01-2014 08:33 AM

After the Shellacne episode, it would seem plausible, especially since that episode taught us to expect the unexpected. Interesting thing, there...

snake 02-01-2014 09:30 AM

That's pretty cool.

Even still, it's funny to think how much faster the 4kids show progressed than the Nick show has plot wise. Definitely more of a slow burn. Not to say that's a bad thing.

Yeah nines, think I like the plot better in 2k3. Kinda dragging things out a bit in 2012 but I still cherish it just as much.

Yeah, but the 2k3 series progressed so fast that they ran out of ideas by Season 5.

I wish they adapted some of the Volume 4 stories or some of the Tales issues around then instead.

snake 02-01-2014 07:03 PM

I like a slower plot instead.

1. Like CyberCubed said, they ran out of ideas by Season 5.
2. 2k3 had how many plots across the show again? I lost track, tbh. The Nick series has one plot to focus on, not a million.

That's not a bad thing. The Nick show could use more plots not connected to Shredder or the Kraang.

I agree with this. Speaking of which, where in the hell IS The Shredder? He's virtually disappeared from the show almost entirely.

Japan, looking for soilders. Karais taken over for now. He'll supposedly come back with Tiger Claw.

I knew that. I hopw he comes back soon though, he's the main villain and we've barely seen him in the show.

Tiger claws first appearance is in episode 13. So maybe by then he will come back. Its not like the shows dying without shredder, I like that shredder doesn't have to be in every episode for the show to be good.

The shows doing just fine without him, but it they were gonna do so little with him, why not show him going to Japan?

Usandtim 02-03-2014 02:04 AM

Because new sets cost money. And they are on a pretty tight budget.

Yah, what's wrong with adding in two plots at least? I miss those thick Shredder plots :(

The writers said Karai's plot would be getting more as the season goes on, maybe more Shredder?

Interesting to note.
