Official Episode Discussion S2 #10 "Fungus Humungous"
And so the onslaught of loose mutagen canisters continues! Looks like the mutagen didn't just affect the squirrels in NYC. It looks like the stuff's going to climb the food chain from the bottom up, starting with the simpler 'critters' and eventually hitting some higher life forms. Mushrooms can have a devastating effect if you're not careful. They can be poisonous or hallucinogenic. Some can kill you if you just touch it. Don't forget those fat pufferballs that throw spores in the air if you step on them. Mushrooms grow from an underground network called mycelium, which can grow to HUGE Sizes. I don't particularly wanna see a 1500 acre mushroom popping up through the sewer grates. Give a mushroom a giant sewer system to grow in, some mutagen and an evil agenda, and you've got yourself a major problem. This thing could grow and overtake the city in a relatively short amount of time. With some hallucinogenic properties, it could easily incapacitate potential threats with illusions of their greatest fears or nightmarish visions. You don't know what's real or fantasy, and next thing you know, you go down the drain to oblivion. Or New Jersey... Hope the weather's good where you are! Stay Tuned! |
LOL what a freaky episode!

Mushroom dance scene was really trippy :teek:

I smiled and refrained from laughing during that one scene.
Right after watching my least favorite part....:ohwell: |

Gotta admit, Leo was pretty dang awesome.

Reminded me of the Darkness within from the 03 series in a way.

I think that came to most of everybody's mind when the synopsis for this episode came out. Though I wasn't expecting this episode to be as dark as Darkness Within, since what it got away with is hard to top for something like this show. |
I loved it, pretty creepy episode.
|
The graphics really impressed me, particularly the CG backgrounds.
It looks like the animation was better in this ep than usual. |
The animation and the jokes were the best of the episode to me.
Too bad we didn't get a preview of Metalhead Rewired at the end. |
I can't remember, was Mikey really that scared of the Squirrelnoids back in their episode? I don't remember him being any more frightened by them than the other Turtles. Mikey's fear felt the most forced of all the others.
|
Nice reference to Super Mario Bros by Mikey, complete with 8-bit style graphics. I also like how the sewers are more realistically dark in this version. In the OT and to a lesser degree 4kids, the sewers always seemed to have false lights hidden behind the walls. I also feel that Nick seems to be making this show lately to scare younger kids more often, especially the last two episodes (I myself got a bit startled at times watching today's episode).

That def made me giggle... someones having a good time making this show!!!
|
Probably my favorite episode of the season with all the trippy hallucinations.
