And why? Remember "Turtles Forever"? You answer lies within that movie. And here I explain why

Hate to break it to ya, but we already do view this show (Along with every other version of TMNT) as another universe.

BabyTurtles 02-15-2014 02:42 PM

I think every reboot is considered another dimension XD

I mean if it was a continuation nothing would make sense and reboots can't ALL be exactly the same cause that would be boring. So yea...I think most people have accepted that :)

though...people might still not like certain changes.
(it could be because it's too different...or because it's just a plain bad idea)

This is the most bizarre thread I've read in some time. Every new cartoon or comic series is its own universe.

Honestly surprised you're not saying 'this thread needs to be locked'.

:o Someone's kidnapped CyberCubed! Must've been one of his trained Cubed-Nazis!

BubblyShell22 02-15-2014 04:37 PM

We already know that this series is its own universe while blending in things that have come before. That's what I like about it.

NinjaPug 02-15-2014 04:40 PM

I've never seen anyone argue that the Nick series is a continuation/part of a previous TMNT universe.

Jester 02-15-2014 04:49 PM

So...another excuse to post a video.

Stay classy, bwrosas.

Shark_Blade 02-15-2014 05:00 PM

Wow.

So revelation.

Much discovery.

ToTheNines 02-15-2014 05:03 PM

I like your fridge magnets.

Candy Kappa 02-15-2014 05:08 PM

Whaaat. And I thought it was a direct continuation of the Fred Wolf show, man. Now it all makes sense!

Said no one ever.

Metalwolf 02-15-2014 06:01 PM

I call it what it properly is.

A reboot.

It doesn't mean that the other versions don't exist, or that each of the others' stories don't matter or aren't canon. I just think a 'multiverse' isn't necessary, it only makes the others feel less special by trying to tie them all together just because.

I have to put up with in Transformers with all of the fanboys and their multiverse wanking, now I hate that it's migrated over to Turtles like a malignancy. :ohwell:

Shred87 02-15-2014 06:22 PM

Didn't know this was a debate... Obviously every new movie cartoon or comic title is considered it own universe.... Didn't you see turtles forever...geez

Huh? I really don't know what you mean. The Turtle universes are all separate and distinct and the only times they are integrated is mainly for one off stories like Turtles Forever.

MsMarvelDuckie 02-15-2014 07:06 PM

Yeah, I'm not really getting that either. Of course they're all their own "universe" (I think multiverse theory is pretty much an accepted thing in EVERY comic-based storyline's continuity now), so I don't quite see why having them connected should even be a problem. didn't the Turtles forever movie already address that issue, anyway?

I'd seen Turtles Forever, and I didn't like it because of the whole multiverse thing.

If it was a one off that wasn't considered canon then I wouldn't care, but it outright states that the destruction of 'Turtle Prime' ends up erasing all of the other universes, which wouldn't end up happening if it wasn't considered a multiverse. It's not the idea of a multiverse per se, but that the movie is indirectly saying that the characters' 'lives' are an illusion, that the universe that they think is real isn't, and that their whole lives can just be erased through the death of some 'comic book universe' which they didn't even know existed until then. So it's not the multiverse itself, but the way it ties all of the others through threat of erasure and non-existence.

Jester 02-15-2014 07:49 PM

To each their own. I thought it was a clever "This is where it all started" kinda deal. Besides, trying to place Turtles Forever in any of its universes be it the Mirage comics, the Fred Wolf Series, or the 4Kids series is kinda dificult anyway.

MsMarvelDuckie 02-15-2014 07:57 PM

It was actually more like their universe spun off of the original one at some point, along with all the others. Multiverses work that way in nearly every sci-fi property- didn't you see Doc Brown's explanation in BttF II? The time-line isn't constant, it's always spinning off alternate worlds because events can change based on decisions made, random variables, or whatever. Otherwise, why do they all have the same names in every one? Why do they always meet the same people, even if they are variations of them? Everyone has an analog in another universe according to multiversal thinking- that version of you may be president, or even dead, but they still existed in some fashion. As I see it, the "Prime" world was simply the FIRST.

Coola Yagami 02-15-2014 09:00 PM

Why not actually talk about it instead of just linking your video here? I do Youtube too, but you don't see me post videos about all my rants about the movie here.... I actually rant about them here. Just leave your link of your channel as part of your sig and call it a day.
