Official Episode Discussion S2 #12 "Of Rats and Men"

I love the use of music from Carmen in the teaser. :D

When the Rat King returns, Splinter must overcome his guilt and fear of the Rat King controlling his mind in order to defeat his foe once and for all.

It's been a while, but it appears that the Rat King has built his strength up enough to attempt another hostile takeover of Splinter's mind. And considering what he put Splinter through in the first episode, this episode could prove to be even worse...

Rat King really exploited Splinter's past and his loss of family, status, and parts of his humanity. Now that the truth has come out about Karai being his daughter, this is just gravy for the Rat King. This could stir up more images from Splinter's past (I'm hoping), maybe some more glimpses of life in Japan - maybe an explanation of the photograph?

THAT I wish we had a teaser about, not just this ice cream kitty nonsense... sure, Kevin makes a cute feline Frosty, but how does this fit into the actual episode? Does this cat freak Splinter out? Or is it just another 'loved one' of April's that gets mutated by accident? The boys are starting to get a real bad track record...

So
WILL SPLINTER SUCCUMB TO THE MENTAL POWER OF THE RAT KING?!
WILL MIKEY SURVIVE APRIL'S WRATH WHEN SHE SEES ICE CREAM KITTY?!
WHERE THE HECK HAS SHREDDER AND KARAI BEEN DURING ALL OF THIS?!

Stay Tuned!!!

Okay, everyone...

Since last week went well with the early opening, I think we can keep doing this for now.. :)

The Poll will be posted in the morning after the show airs.

Some spoiler commentary

Pretty sure Ice Cream Kitty is going to have a big cult following. :P
They packed a lot into this episode when it could have just been your standard villain returns ep, but it was far more than that. Really cool!

P.S. - to those with a Season Pass like me, I think this will be the last episode of this season. "Season 4" (aka Season 2 part 2) probably starts after the one week break we are having now. So get your wallets ready if you are going to continue buying them like me!

omg though...that rats of men episode was just....Insanely dark

for example, other than the obvious creeptastic stuff you will be seeing

I think the cat mutating was dark :P And yeah I love how they slip these little horror elements in there, they are very sly about it!

This was a great episode. It was creepy, funny and serious all in one.

The ending was straight up GANGSTA! :)

It was, and I'm surprised they let the RK fall to his death. Could that be the true end of him? 8)

Wow Ciro Nieli wasn't kidding when he said the episode are getting darker. What a crazy, intence, dark episode it was. I'll post my thoughts later when the episode has aired.

Interesting episode, I'll wait until the episode airs to give it my thoughts.

Gosh I'm sick of Irma.

Well, the cat wasn't April's, so she shouldn't be too broken up about it.

Good episode so far, not a fan of Irma or Ice Cream Kitty at all.

Ugh, I hope that cat wasn't infected with any sort of disease. Otherwise, Things might end badly for Mikey.

Good episode, could have done without Irma and Ice Cream Kitty. But good episode. Nice to see Casey beat the snot out of that rat at the end.

Aww!Ick was so cute and that ending was great! This is by far the best Splinter I have ever seen.

This was soooooo good! ICK was amazingly cute! Rat king was pretty scary, and we got to see Irma!
