So, which Turtle will be killed off?

I'm basing this on Transformers, where in the first, we lost Jazz, in the second, we lost temporarily Optimus and the third, we lost Ironhide (who was my favorite, them bastards.)

Are the Turtles safe from the same fate?

snake 03-29-2014 12:01 PM

No turtle will be killed.

The Shelf 03-29-2014 12:04 PM

What if the movie kills off Splinter?

Vicky82 03-29-2014 12:06 PM

None of the Turtles will be killed off that would be stupid and I seriously don't think Kevin and Peter would allow that to happen. I can see them killing off Splinter but not in this movie maybe in the sequels.

Transformers is totaly different, they are robots and in the cartoons there were a lot of them and I expect Bay was influenced by the Transformers cartoon movie in the 80s where they killed off most of the original Autobots.

BabyTurtles 03-29-2014 12:06 PM

I'm pretty sure all the turtles will be okay....

maybe one of them gets badly injured (I'd bet Raph)

They don't own the franchise anymore, so they cannon dictate what can or cannot happen in anything with the Turtles no more. I really wished they had gone the route that J.K. Rowlings did (she rented out the property on the basis that all creative decisions are under her control)

I hope this doesn't happen, but nothing surprises me anymore. They could even kill off April if they wanted to.

Candy Kappa 03-29-2014 12:10 PM

I'm sure we'll get a fake-out with either Leo or Raph. And when everyone thinks he is dead, he'll reemerge and everyone will cheer.

As cliche as possible.

Warhorse 03-29-2014 12:12 PM

Would you be up for April dying, like what happened to the main chick in TDK?

Yeah I think they probably get injured.

I know they don't own them now but I thought they would have some say, they are involved in this movie arn't they?

Killing April off could be interesting but I can't see that happening in the movie.

Breadcrab 03-29-2014 12:21 PM

I seriously doubt they would have the balls. It would be creatively suicidal.

If they want this to potentially be a franchise, they're not gonna axe a character that's vital to the team-dynamic of the heroes. It would piss off fans and non-fans alike, making unsatisfied viewers and complaining parents. There's no reason they'd take that kind of risk.

Sure, as you said, Transformers featured the deaths of some Autobot characters. But let's be honest; the lineup of Transformers is so vast that they're easily replaceable, and they never killed off the more important, marketable characters like Optimus and Bumblebee.

So yeah. Not gonna happen. The studio execs and marketing people would never let that slide. As someone else said, maaaaaybe they'd kill off Splinter, but one of the turtles? Shell no.

Sighphi 03-29-2014 12:26 PM

Mike is very like the one to say, "What's up my little bitches."
So it would probably be him.

BODYCOUNT 03-29-2014 12:35 PM

The thing about the Turtles are they are specifically 4 Brothers. 4 being one constant and the fact they are turtles being the other. Now in IDW they are legit brothers not just turtles in a bowl brothers. But any other character to me is expendable in the right time and circumstance...

Warhorse 03-29-2014 12:37 PM

They could always go the route that the 2k3 toon episode, Same as it Never Was, did.

Dākunaito 03-29-2014 12:41 PM

I'm thinking that when 3 of the turtles are captured we will be given the illusion that raph might be dead.

as long as that happens after the mountain scene that could be a possibility...

Yeah I don't know where in the timeline each event will take place, I'm assuming they are captured in the lair when its invaded, but either raph is presumed dead to the turtles or he just isn't there to begin with.

No I don't think so because of this

Someone (I think Mikey) shouts out, where's Raph)

I'm wondering what happens to Splinter when the lair is invaded, does he get get away, he isn't seen with other 3 when they are captured.

TMNT is cooler than MOTU 03-29-2014 01:08 PM

No way in hell they'd kill off any of the turtles. The robots in Transformers are basically interchangeable anyways, so it didn't matter if one of them was blown to smithereens.

However, they might kill off Splinter. Blockbusters these days have a tendency to kill off the head father figure. Surprised Alfred made it out of Nolan's trilogy still intact.

this, theres hundreds of transformers over 4 turtles..now they could kill of splinter...its something we know happens in one story so its not like its out of the realm of possibility

also Eastman and Laird don't own it anymore...BUT i am pretty sure this movie has at least Eastman as consultant, and as crazy lovable as he is sometimes he wouldnt kill the turtles off

and if i remember right i read somewhere Laird has some sort of clause in the selling contract he can take creative control of certian projects for a short time

Slade 03-29-2014 01:26 PM

I kid
