What if April stays as a teenager
How would you guys feel if April became a teenager permanently in future media such as comic books, cartoons, TV shows, movies, etc.?
|
I would not be a happy camper.
|
I wouldn't mind, but I doubt that will happen.
|
This is already not happening. April is an adult in the movie and in IDW she's in College.
|
I'd like it. In other versions it works because the turtles were adult-like, but think about it: four teens hanging out in the sewer with a full grown woman. I find that odd. Just my opinion, however.

It depends, if there's no meaning to it, I'd say no.
In the Nick version, it makes sense cause since the Kraang were trying to find her since she was born and looking for her for 15+ years, plus the fact that she is indirectly the reason the turtles and Splinter became mutated in the first place, it adds something to the story that she is around the same age as the Turtles, and where they were mutated the same time she was born. If she was in her 30s in the Nick show, that wouldn't have had nearly as much meaning. But the Turtles and Splinter being mutated as the first cause and effect of The Kraang showing up in New York to find April, that has significant meaning. That was the main reason she was made a teen in the first place. The love triangle thing is an add on, but the former of what's stated above is the main reason. People that don't think that, whatever, but just put two and two together and it's pretty clearly written out as such. So if there's reason, sure they can do. But if it's doing it just to do it, I prefer them not. |
Nick's April is my favorite to date. I'm not sure if her being a teen has anything to do with it but if the sum of her character requires a younger age, then it's fine.
|
if it's done right...sure.
but after watching Nick April......I think I rather April remain a young adult. or at least 18. I feel they only made April a teen in Nick so she could be a love interest.... |
No, just now. Hate how they are doing her in the Nick show, she's probably my least favorite incarnation. (Megan Fox doesn't count) feel's like they have changed her only so Donatello can slob all over her. April has a purpose, she's turtles connection to the human world, as a teenager she doesn't work that great...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one that notices things or looks closely at how a story is being done. :ohwell: |

but looking at her now....the love triangle seems to be taking over her character...which causes me to believe that's one of the main reasons they turned her into a teen in the first place. but it's not just the love stuff I have a problem with....it's her whole story. I hate the fact she has powers....I hate the fact she's the "key" I hate the fact she's fast learner, and I hate the fact she's not good friends with the other 3 turtles(even if she wasn't a teen and was like this I'd still hate it) there are some great scenes that happened because she is a teen...but just not nearly as many as I thought she would..or should have..... Nick April has so much potential.... I understand you like Nick April, but that doesn't mean you have to disregard any criticism for her. This April has flaws. I love Nick Mikey...but even I know he has major flaws that need tweaking. |
I wouldn't like it
She would be portrayed better because obvious reasons but still not on board with it

I'm saying don't say things you know aren't true, because if you or anyone honestly thinks the only or even main reason she was made a teen was for a love interest, then I'm sorry but you're not paying attention to the story if you truly think that. |

A 30 year old woman hanging with Nick's TMNT would make no sense. |
Why does she have to be 30 if she were to be an adult? You guys do realize there's this whole decade between teenage years and 30, right?
