The April Fools' Day Thread 2014

What did you all manage to do today?

Personally, I think it's gone a bit too far recently. Every year you see more and more headlines asking, "Did this April Fools' Day prank go too far?" Stay safe out there folks.

For those who haven't seen it yet, this video is pretty eye-opening:

I didn't do anything but someone said to me that there was a snowstorm coming and I believed her. She said April Fools.

I think that NEVER gets old.

I pulled off two. The first one was actually pretty elaborate. There's a co-worker/friend of mine at my job who is 40+, lives with her dad and step-mom, and hasn't dated since high school. She's also got a mind almost as dirty as mine at times, and she's a little on the ditzy side. As a joke, My hubby and I came up with an idea to have him write his phone # on a napkin with a fake name (Don Tortega, lol!) and have me give it to her before she went on her break and say it was from a guy in our drive thru who thought she sounded sexy when she took his order, and tell her to call him. Then he would flirt with her when she called the number. She fell for it hook line and sinker. She even asked me if I thought he was cute. I said "Yeah, I thought so." I'm married to him, so I may be biased, though. :twink: The only down side? She forgot her phone at home! :trolleye: And she was all set to call him, too....

The second prank was pulling my store's general manager aside and telling him I was putting in my two weeks notice. He fell for it too, although when I tried to "quit" to the other two managers earlier in the day before he arrived, neither bought it- they both know me too well.

That first one sounds pretty f*cking cruel, honestly.

Actually, she thought it was pretty funny once I broke it to her. It was all in the delivery. I know her well enough to be pretty sure how she'd take it, or I wouldn't have done it in the first place. We've worked together for three years, after all and I DID say she's a friend. What was really funny was when she asked if he looked Mexican because of the name, especially since we work with so many. I almost gave it away at that point just from the things she was asking. Was SOO hard to keep a straight face when she asked how old I thought he was and I told her "about our age". She's only a few years older than my other half and me. When she came in the next day, she was still laughing about it.
