Shredder's mutant minions

Since the beginning, the Shredder's first minions are Bebop & Rocksteady, a warthog and rhino.

In 2003, he had no mutant minions but Hun until he became a mutant turtle himself.

Then in 2012, instead of Bebop and Rocksteady, we have Bradford/Dogpound/Rahzar, Xever/Fishface and Tiger Claw.

So now in the movie, what new animals do you think the Shredder should have as his mutant minions?

SwiftNinjaFox 05-16-2014 09:57 AM

I think we'll most likely see Bebop and Rocksteady return to the rogues' gallery with the second movie.

Matt2310 05-16-2014 11:33 AM

i agree, if they had any brains they would bring bebop and rocksteady to the big screen... they better be mentioned at the end of the first one!

ninja-zero 05-16-2014 07:19 PM

I would like to see Shredder train some wild mutants in the ways of the Foot ninja.

ninja-zero 05-17-2014 01:55 PM

If they were to bring back Bebop & Rocksteady as the movies first villain mutants, what weapons do you see them using. I wish they wielded ninja weapons besides just being thugs all the time.

Bebop (Warthog/Razorback Boar):
Weapons: Chainsaw, Meteor Hammer, Handguns

Rocksteady:
Weapons: Hammer, Melon Hammer, Spiked Clubs, Vulcan Cannon

Not only will they serve the Foot, they can also serve the Purple Dragons.

Assuming the movie stays even remotely true to the franchise. I expect Cyber to spaz when they put a black guy as Rocksteady and an asian guy to be Bebop.

Well he did have those three mutant "clones" and don't forgot Tokka, Rahzar, and all those other mutants in Turtles Forever.

ninja-zero 05-19-2014 11:55 AM

How would you see Bebop and Rocksteady in the movie?

Perhaps animals rounded up by the Purple Dragons to be the Shredder's and Stockman's test subjects in creating their own mutants?

I hope they gain some intelligence. I'd see them working with the Purple Dragons and the Foot.

pennydreadful 05-19-2014 09:24 PM

I'd like to see B & R as members of the Purple Dragons who got mutated (either voluntarily or unwillingly).

Granted, I'm not overly optimistic about seeing the Purple Dragons in the movies, but even working them in as general street-level punks (non-gang-affiliated) would be good, IMO.

Bebop should be handled similar to B.A.Baracus in a live action movie and Rocksteady should be more of the brains between the two and have him be a little twisted, darker and a more skilled fighter than Bebop.

Bebop should be the one who charges into a fight the moment it presents itself while Rocksteady takes a little bit more time deciding who he wants to challenge himself with in a fight. Bebop should have a length of chain to fight Mikey with and Rocksteady needs a machete to sword fight Leo with.

I wouldn't want the characters completely different from the OT just more competent and so powerful with such short fuses and a hankering for violence that they become intimidating based on what they are and how they behave and not just look a little scary but be so stupid they pose "0" threat.

Did anyone find Beastman horrifying as a kid in the Masters of the Universe movie? Make Bebop and Rocksteady intimidating like that.

That's a good idea. But!

If Rocksteady will use a machete on Leo, if he's gonna face Don, how about a melon hammer?

If Bebop will us a chain on Mikey, if he's gonna face Raph, how about a dagger/switchblade?

Wonder if there was a way for the Foot and the Purple Dragons to team up.

KirkyMonster 05-25-2014 06:40 AM

If Bebop were to use a switchblade I think it should be one of the huge novlty size ones. That way it would look right size-wise and would be stupid and intimidating...... like Bebop!

Puddinpop 05-31-2014 03:18 PM

Baxter Stockman for sure.. I'm praying we get a mutation scene with him towards the end. I'm about 90% sure he's being played by K. Todd Freeman. Sooo... that's who I'd like to see aside from Bebop and Rock.

Powder 05-31-2014 04:08 PM

I wanna see that dude from the first season who gets mutated into a bat (& before some noobs correct me thinking that I don't know who Wingnut is, no, I'm not talking about Wingnut).

Candy Kappa 05-31-2014 04:14 PM

According to wiki, his name is Scrag, he did look pretty cool.

Powder 05-31-2014 04:16 PM

Word, him. I have no idea why but I feel like he would fit in with these turtles.

Candy Kappa 05-31-2014 04:20 PM

A villain bat mutant would be awesome in live-action form, like Hugh Jackman Van Helsing's Dracula's batform.

Only good.

Galactus 05-31-2014 04:29 PM

I know I'm a minority in this but I'm not overly fond of the idea of mutant minions or henchmen in movie form.

Because of their big presence in the Fred Wolf cartoon it seems that a lot of people think of Bebop and Rocksteady and their ilk as important characters so their origin and set up is not something that's going to be handled off screen or done in a short way.

But the thing is the characters are just that; henchmen. Do we really want a movie to waste time setting up Shredder's cannon fodder? Secret of the Ooze may have been marginally better received if it had been Bebop and Rocksteady instead of Tokka and Rahzar but it still would have wasted time on them only to result in an unsatisfying battle were they were beaten by the turtles spraying gas in their mouths. :ohwell:

There's also the fact that Bebop and Rocksteady in a sequel likely means we have to have Shredder again. I'm not fond of the idea of Shredder being their omnipresent villain and that's before factoring it's this lame Shredder-sachs we'd probably be getting. Then again that's assuming they play this all remotely faithfully, for all we know they'd make Bebop and Rocksteady the main villains above Shreddersachs.

Powder 05-31-2014 05:04 PM

If this movie were more in line with the comics, I'd agree. But considering it's a big Fred Wolf casual-demographic bayfest, they might as well just put in a bunch of mutants too.

ninja-zero 05-31-2014 07:31 PM

Anyone wish ninja-like mutants to serve the Shredder?

Anyone know animals that are ninja related?
