Nick TMNT audio dub of other languages
Hello everyone, I'm from Malaysia and this is my first post. Nick TMNT just premiered on our local channel last weekend, in our own Malay language audio dub. Here are some clips of how the character voices sound like:
Turtles discovering pizza Splinter choosing the leader Snake with Kraangdroids Entering the enemy's lair Rescuing April Meet Snakeweed Back at April's house News reporter and Shredder In summary, I think Leo sounds too mature, Raph and Donnie sound alright, Mikey sounds almost perfect, Splinter sounds like a villain, and Shredder sounds like an incompetent villain! :tlol: The Kraang's robotic voice are spot-on, and are actually provided by 3 different voice actors. I hope it is acceptable to share short clips like these as these are not full episodes, if not please let me know as I'm really new here and may not be aware of the practices around here. :trazz: That being said, if there are any of you who can share clips like these in other audio dub, please share them on this thread as I would love to check them out! |
I quite liked the new actors for Mikey and Carlos the newsreader.
Splinter sounds weird. Shredder is pants - not menacing at all. And the others sound a bit too old for the characters they're voicing? I found that with the Japanese dub as well. |
Hey. :tsmile: I've wanted to hear more dubs of this show, so thanks for sharing the Malay dub! It was interesting to hear, very different from languages I'm used to. ^^
I just uploaded clips of the Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and German dub of the show to Youtube, if someone's interested in seeing them. (I hope it's okay to post...?) Norwegian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWLC_je52jo Danish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXagUWWm1Uw Swedish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uWYuZWpJbk German: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8u1byW59zo Norwegian is the only language I speak out of those. I've never been a big fan of Norwegian dubs, it just sounds weird. I believe it's because nothing in Norway is dubbed except for kids shows, so when you're old enough to read subtitles or have learned enough English, you stay away from all dubs. I think most of the voices in this are fine, but Mikey's is a little too different from the original. The main problem with the dub is that they keep using the same voices over again on all of Nickelodeon's shows (I think)... and their voices are too loud for the background music. Can't say much about the other dubs, they all sound fine to me. :) |
Japenese dub sounds fine from the clips you posted, well at least I think does as I can't speak for everyone. But I watch one of the Manjay dub clips and well... they sound bad. Gambe's voice is good, as is Mikey's. But the rest of the Turtles sound a little off, as does Splinter. But Shredder sounds horrible. Just my thoughts on those two dubs. But I haven't seen it all so I'm just going of the clips.:ohwell:

I've been following up in the cantonese dub of season 1 and so far, its okay. However, my only gripe with the cantonese dub is TVB's unnecessary cuts. All of those cut scenes seem to involve Xever's flipping around his switchblade. It hinders on showing the rivalry between Xever and Chris Bradford.

The Malay dub of Nick TMNT is currently being aired DAILY on our local channel TV9 in Malaysia, and being a free-to-air channel it has a streaming site for anyone to watch it from anywhere in the world. It's on 4:30-5:00pm GMT+8 (Malaysia/Hong Kong/Beijing time) every day, so feel free to check out the link if you're interested.
It's starting in 45 minutes time for today. Enjoy! |
Sweet! I love hearing different dubs! ^_^ Has anyone found intros/outros (doesn't matter what language)? Those would be interesting to hear too to see if they translate the rap, subtitle it, or completely replace it...
Thank you for sharing Evan! ^_^ |
