Wish I was stateside to go.

Man, that sounds so cool. Wish I could go to that. Ah, well.
|
I should be there, so hopefully I'll get some decent shots.
|
Man, I wonder what day is it going to be.:ohwell:
|
Woah! Hopefully they mean Lloyd Goldfine.

Typically, there is always one panel clash for me at San Diego, and this year it involves this panel! It's on at the same time (or crosses over) with Cartoon Voices #1 which I nearly always go to, and Jim Cummings is gonna be there for starters this year. Either way, I then have to haul ass cos the Usagi panel is on immediately after the TMNT panel further down the building.

Sooo... wtf. Did this happen or not?
|
Yeah, it happened, I wasn't able to get in sadly. Andrew Farago can possibly tell you more as he was moderating.
|
So weird that no one retorted anything.

I was there. There wasn't too much to report, though. It was a really fun hour of the panelists telling stories and talking about their part in the 30-year history of the TMNT. However, there were no announcements or anything, which is what people are looking to report on while at the Con.

Aww no announcements of any kind. I'm sure it was fun to witness.

Did anyone happen to record the panelists telling the stories? That sounds really cool. |
I saw at least a couple of video cameras in the front row, so the footage should be surfacing at some point. Michele Ivey from Cowabunga Corner had a camera, I'm pretty sure.
The panel was a BLAST. I kicked things off by talking with Kevin Eastman about the origins of the Turtles. From there we went to Townsend Coleman, who talked about voicing Michelangelo in the original cartoon series. Pat Linden from Playmates weighed in with some basic PR about the toy line. Ernie Reyes Jr. was the star of the show, though, since he busted out his pizza delivery uniform from TMNT II and introduced himself as "Keno" to the audience. We talked about the live action movies, then skipped over The Next Mutation (Kevin had a few good stories about that experience, though), then it was on to Lloyd Goldfine and the 4Kids show and Turtles Forever. Nickelodeon's crew had to miss out due to some scheduling conflicts and illnesses, but that gave me more time to talk to Tom Waltz and Kevin about the new series. Yeah, no major announcements, but it was a really fun hour talking with major figures from TMNT history, and the audience seemed to have as much fun as we did onstage. My only regret is that I think we could have filled a room twice as big. There must have been hundreds of people who were waiting in line who didn't get into the panel. |
