Cantonese dub finally on the air in Hong Kong!

Just browsed thru a few Chinese forums and realized that the Cantonese dub of Nickelodeon's tmnt just airing on tvb jade channel. So I looked around and found the 2 episodes that's aired already and rewatched those episodes. Really digging those dubbed voices. I'm relieved that TVB has got the turtles down pat. Leo sounds like the Cantonese dub voice of Envy (Fullmetal Alchemist. Donnie sounds alright. Cantonese Raph sounds very sarcastic. Mikey was spot-on. Only voice I didn't like was the Shredder. He lacked that low grovelly voice from the original English version.

Tvb will be airing the whole first season without pre-empts.

Nice to know that! Any chance of you sharing short video/sound clips of the Cantonese dub here? You can check out this thread to hear how the characters sound like in other language dubs: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=47638

Never seen the japanese dub besides the japanese opening intro and ending credits. In Hong Kong, however, it's more than a relief to say that it is uncut and the usual intro we see here in north america is left intact. It's also a bilingual broadcast so you can switch to english with the press of a button. Too bad "rise of the turtles" never got that 1 hr treatment like it did in the states. This saturday, tvb should airing "turtle temper" where we meet spiderbytes.

I've already sent you the link thru private messenging. I'm just not sure if the mods are okay with me sharing the links

Thanks a lot! Yeah we can't post full episodes here, I'll see what I can do to cut out some short clips that are reasonable enough to be shared here.

Watched the cantonese dub of s01e04 where Mikey tries to make human friends and meets Chris Bradford instead. And only till now I realize something is wrong with this airing. Looks like 2 minutes of this episode is cut. Namely where Xever is swinging his knife and another shot where Bradford stomps on a foot soldier.

I realize there are occasional cuts in international airings too. In the Mandarin dub, they cut the part where Mikey argued that Snakeweed should have been mutated to a snake, as you can see here:

I guess some of the cut has nothing to do with censorship, instead it was meant to save time to fit into a particular airing slot. The first episode of the Mandarin dub has the entire Space Heroes clip removed, but in other episodes it was left intact.
