TMNT Marketing Skewed?
I've noticed that the new movie seems to be getting much more attention from programs and magazines geared toward adults than kids, all the clips and plugs I've seen have been on shows like Access Hollywood or Dish Nation(which had Robbie Rist as a guest today discussing Megan Fox's childhood crush on his character!) , TMZ, or in Cosmo and other adult-read magazines. Others have commented that Nick hasn't shown trailers for it, and I've seen only ONE trailer in the theater. (Sadly, I missed all but the last trailer before T4, so I don't know if it had one here.)
Do you think the marketing has skewed toward adults over kids for this movie? It seems like they have been putting more emphasis on things like Megan's role, Whoopie being cast, and other side-issues rather than the actual subject of the movie itself. |

Whoever said that Nickelodeon hasn't shown any trailers for this movie is flat out lying...they show trailers for this movie ALL THE TIME!!! |

...different regions air different commercial blocks style all the time...some NICK channels in some areas may not be showing them and some may be...personally in my area ive seen NO tmnt trailers outside the web no matter the channel yet tons of Apes,Transformers,GOTG and now Lucy and as i said in my thread this isnt me being a hater or whiney fan boy, or not a true fan...marketing seems to vary by region in fact the only marketing ive seen locally is one pizza hut window decal of raphs sai with the poppers |

But to say that Nick hasn't shown ANY trailers is false...just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean the station isn't airing them |
Obviously, if y don't see them in your area, that means Nick isn't airing them in that area. It's pretty simple. And it's not one or two people saying this, but SEVERAL. In different areas. So it appears that Nick hasn't been airing them in a large part of their viewership's regions. That's really odd for what is probably considered a "kids' movie" by most. My question is whether anyone thinks this means it may be being marketed more for adults.

I'm in the southeast & I haven't seen any trailers on Nick (or any other channel for that matter, but I admit I don't watch that much TV). Still, you'd think it's a given they'd air it during TMNT, but no dice on my side of the states. Weird.

Could just be that many simply haven't been as lucky as you to catch it on Nick, eh? Doesn't make people liars if in their experience - or area - it doesn't seem to be happening... I mean I've personally seen zilch. Guess you live in Luckyland. |

A 1 min trailer is listed available on demand from Comcast, but that's all I've come across. |

http://i61.tinypic.com/x1nbxt.jpg As for the topic at hand, it's gotta be the provider, man. A lot of the time they have different sponsors & whatnot. Makes sense to me. Too bad I'm missing out. It'd be neat to see a TMNT trailer on the boobtube. |
I think it's a waste to play TV spots so early before a film, especially if the film doesn't have the hugest marketing budget.
They'll start pushing more ads in front of popular kid/teen programming more and more as we hit mid- to late-july (especially the later.) |
