Creative ways you enjoy food? (Making something out of nothing)

I know all of us have run into one of these situations. You pour yourself a bowl or cereal and then realize no milk, or make spaghetti but then realize you don't have sauce. Obviously the solution being go get some of whatever you need but when you can't what do you do? How do you enjoy food items when you don't have everything you need? Not just the ones I used as examples.

I've learned from the Hawaiians, just, stock up on Spam. You can eat it straight out of the can, no preparations needed.

But, to play along with the thread, I use sandwich bread with my hot dogs if I don't have hot dog bread. Or, I use hot dog bread to make garlic bread because I don't have hot dogs, but, have a lot of leftover hot dog bread...I sprinkle garlic powder on some whipped butter, mixing and spreading it on the hot dog bread, then bake or grill it.

I thought everybody did the hot dog bun to garlic bread and use sandwhich bread if out of buns.

But other than that, we don't have everything we need to make something, we either don't make it or go get it.

I guess, It's as common as the hot dog, instead of a meat ball, in the spaghetti.

I really enjoy meatball subs (without the meatballs).

I used to hate salads but when I tried them with sunflower seeds I saw the light and now I won't eat them without them.

We use to have a warm meal in the evening, but if we have nothing right at home (like today) we just eat what we have.

for example:
we had sandwich toast, rocket (the salad) and some mayonnaise. Found peperoni in the deepest corner of the fridge and made a sandwich :D

Thought of somethig weird I do. I actually like to have my ice cream melted a lot and then kind of drink it.

My cousin loves it that way. I only do this when I have a Dr. Pepper float. And only if it's vanilla ice cream. I need to try letting chocolate ice cream melt, then drinking that. Sounds like a winner.

If I'm really low on snack stuff, sometimes I'll melt some semi sweet chocolate chips in the micro for around 6 or so seconds and mix it with a little peanut butter. Not bad. Kind of a cheap version of a peanut butter cup minus the shape of the cup. I've heard apples are also tasty with a little pb. Been meaning to try that.
