Name three "celebrities' who you just don't like

I will be honest, when it comes to famous people and celebrity culture, I'm downright cynical. Most of them are completely pointless and talentless, save some talented gems. I could produce a long list, but here I invite you to name just three 'celebrities' who you think are overrated. It must be someone in showbusiness, due to the religious and political rules of the forum, and it can be for any reason(s). I'm baffled by the appeal of the following:

1) Justin Timberlake. Really can't understand the obsession with this guy. His singing sounds like a 12 year old boy is having his balls locked in a vice. He isn't really anything special in any way, shape or form, yet he seems to be universally admired. Staggering.

2) Megan Fox. Just totally talentless. I disliked her prior to her role as April, and now I dislike her even more.

3) Harry Styles. This guy really baffles me. He's completely talentless - he can't sing and doesn't appear to have any charisma. He's also considered the 'stud' of One Direction despite being probably the least attractive of the five of them. Objectively speaking, the Asian guy is clearly far, far better looking. Totally talentless and probably the most overrated human being I have ever seen in the looks department. The worst of it is that he comes across as very smug - as if he thinks fleecing teenage girls of their cash thanks to Simon Cowell's brainwashing is something to be proud of. Tosser.

Let's see who you dislike.

I think 90% of the current popular celebs, especially the ones aimed at teens most people don't like. There is very little real talent in Hollywood left.

I also don't care for most black rappers, mainly because most rap isn't very enjoyable to listen to.

Prowler 09-06-2014 05:26 PM

There's plenty whose "work" I don't like or care about, but I can't think of three that stand out from the rest in my "dislike list". I don't care about what they think, say or do outside of their "area".

Yes, many are idiots, but I don't give a damn enough to waste my time and energy disliking them.

Me either, but I thought this would be quite a funny topic as there is so much to mock about these morons.

I like how you had to single out the black ones. As if white, asian and green ones were any better. Inb4 3 pages of people calling you a racist

And I'm pretty sure most older people look down on the celebrities and "pop icons" that the youth likes, You think people born in the 50s cared about Kurt Cobain?

The key difference being that Kurt Cobain was very talented, had some depth to his personality (hence why he shot himself, he was very troubled) and was quite a handsome man, whereas someone like Styles has no redeeming qualities whatsoever - he's a parasite who has made a career from brainwashing easily influenced teenage girls. Anyone who called Kurt Cobain talentless or pointless didn't have a leg to stand on - it's the opposite with Styles.

I just used him as an example, though. First one that came to my mind :P

Talented? That depends. He wasn't a talent less hack but he was not an amazing musician either. I like some of Nirvana songs but I don't even consider them to be the best grunge band. I found Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots to be a lot better. Also, aren't some of Nirvana's songs the first ones someone learns to play when they get a guitar? Or is that just a myth?

I don't even know who Styles is, to be honest. So can't comment on him.

I never said he was a genius - just that he had a level of talent. A far higher level of talent than any member of Girls Aloud or Done Direction.

You're better off not knowing who he is. I only know who he is because every time I open yahoo news I see his stupid face staring back at me - and it's not even the show-business section I open, it's the current events. But somehow he weasels his way into everything.

Efit: "Done Direction" lol. Freudian slip.

Mostly, it's because you're ignorant, not because "most rap isn't very enjoyable to listen to." Your view in rap music is so narrow and you define the genre on how little experience you have...thus, it makes you ignorant in saying so.

Davetello 09-06-2014 05:48 PM

Yeah, not too happy with Cubed using this somewhat light-hearted thread as an avenue to peddle his racism.

I concur on both Justin Timberlake and Megan Fox. I would change #3 to Adam Saddler. He plays the same childish idiot babbling about random things and people find it funny. I just don't get it.
In middle school when Timberlake was at his hight he was the great divider between boys and girls. The girls liked him for some reason they did not understand themselves and it caused the boys to hate him due to the constant rambling about him and misunderstanding of liking someone so much who has zero talent. My opinion on him never changed much since age 11.
As for Fox, I never have seen much with her but she just gives off this idea that she is nothing more than a priss who relies on her alleged blowup doll looks. I don't find her attractive and don't get the physical appeal especially how she gets mainstream acting jobs. Its all my opinions but I just don't comprehend the greatness of those three.

I quite like Sandler's movies but more in 'guilty pleasure' terms. I know he really isn't talented.

Timberlake is a strange case. He just isn't good looking at all, and he isn't particularly talented. I could always understand what women saw in Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, even David Beckham. But Timberlake's popularity with women always perplexed me. Not to anywhere near the level of my bafflement with Harry Styles's popularity, but still significant.

Megan Fox would be physically attractive imo, if she hadn't ruined herself with plastic surgery. I can certainly see why other guys don't think she would be with or without, though. She's also talentless, just like practically everyone else named.

pandaderek 09-06-2014 06:30 PM

Justin Bieber, Michael Bay, and Macklemore.

Justin Bieber needs to be humbled-down and get the **** beat out of him.

Michael Bay gets too much respect for someone who compromises any artistic vision for generic garbage art. I feel that he, just, makes movies that are high in CGI production so that he could put more money into his production company and doesn't put in more money into good writing and directing. It's kind of like how politicians create charities that support their own campaign, as a way to funnel money into their own pockets.

Macklemore gets too much credit for something so many underground artists do (and do better). But, I could live with that. The thing that made me upset was that he knew he didn't deserve the "rap album of the year" award, but, still accepted it. To add to it, he tweeted to his fans that he shouldn't have won, by sharing a picture of the text that he sent Kendrick Lamar, instead of mailing the award to him if he really felt that way. Also, that Jewish stereotype outfit that he refuses to admit was racist.

I'm surprised nobody said Michael Jackson. His music during the 80's was great, but the man was a freak. It's so sad to see what he became by the end of his life.

I also still don't understand to this day how a black man turned into a white feminine looking drag queen over the course of his life. He was good looking in 1981, what the hell did he do to himself?

Davetello 09-06-2014 06:42 PM

Thanks for the suggestions. Bay and Bieber both belong on the list as well.

It's cathartic isn't it? Talking about people who are irritating.

As a child I did not understand why people especially the black community loved this guy who was in my opinion then a freak. I admit I don't like his music because I don't like his voice and of his music just the one song,Beat It and that is because aside from Jackson's voice its entirely Eddie Van Halen. He had a troubled childhood by an abusive father who ised his childrens' talents. Not only was there pressure and abuse but putting up with his older sibblings antics to break hin down to hide in a childhood he never had. Aside from his mental problems he mutated due to a legitmate disease called vitiligo universalis that morphed his skin complexion in the late '80s. I pity his hard knock life even if I could careless about him as a musician.

I agree about current teen centric celebs like Bieber and Cyrus,Gaga too. Their anorale antics are not amusing but shameful that people are so interested in their attention craving dramas. I used to appreciate Cyrus as a humble country musician but she morphed into an attention grabbing rebel and wannabe wh- - - -.

Never heard of Cobain or Macklamore. I assume their unwarranted stardom is confined to a certain generation or I just don't get out much as far as topic about them are concerned.

As I don't watch TV much, and I don't read the news, I can't think of that many people at all.

1. Piers Morgan. I don't like piers Morgan because I get the sense that he doesn't care about much at all, and that to me comes across as been an idiot.

2. Justin Bieber. Can't sing at all, no matter what it is. Also is a terrible role model, as he spends his spare time drag racing on the streets in cars he really shouldn't be driving.

3. Can't think of a 3rd one. I'll have to come back to this thread later.

Raph's Girl 09-06-2014 07:16 PM

Tom Cruise, Leonardo Di Crapio, and Brad Pitt. I've never liked any of them and generally don't see any of their films. They just rub me the wrong way for some reason. Some of Tom Cruise' earlier work I DO like (Legend and Top Gun) tho.

shuriken 09-06-2014 07:33 PM

This thread is terrible btw. and Cubed your generalization is ridiculous as usual.

Justin Bieber is just a douchey jerk that can't sing. I worked at a soldier field event(I'm a foof/beverage vendor), he was the opening act and he was terrible. I heard a bunch of people boo-ing and it was great, especially when he put on a BlackHawks jersey to try and pander to the crowd.
He opened for Taylor Swift, and even though I'm not a huge fan of her music, I acknowledge that she is quite talented and a pretty young woman.

Adrien Broner is a decent boxer but just an annoying douche of an individual. He has talent, heart and charisma but doesn't have any sort of class. It was so awesome seeing Marcos Maidana beat his ass last year.

Kim Kardashian. She is so fake and just comes off as a glorified trophy wife that got famous for dating/having sex with/marrying talented and famous individuals all while being a socialite. The first time I saw her (I wanna say 2010) I thought she was so hot. Then when I looked her up online I saw that sex tape with Ray J and just sort of laughed. After that she came off as trashy and fake.
I remember going over to a cousins house and one of em was watching keeping up with the Kardashians and I just was dumbfounded at how terrible that show is. Her lips got bigger, her eybrows kept rising, and I thought to myself "What kind of a role model are you"? Young girls apparently look up to this vapid mess, as well as promoting those sketchers shoes that don't really do anything and looking sooooo plastic it's disheartening.

I don't get the hate for One Direction (just pop music what do you expect),
Timberlake (dude is funny, self aware and is pretty talented) or Michael Jackson (yes he was a weirdo but his music was awesome and it inspired a generation of artists).

Bay is just meh. An example of someone that doesn't really get what good storytelling is all about.

Why is it terrible? Because you disagree with some people's selections (I see your little love-in with Timberlake)?

Of course, you can't think the premise of the thread is terrible can you? Otherwise you wouldn't have agreed with some of the other suggestions.

So essentially you find the thread 'terrible' because you don't like the fact that some people dislike c0cks like Timberlake
