I don't love introductions, but I'll give it a shot!

Hi, everybody!

I recently stumbled upon this great forum and decided to join to make use of this amazing accumulation of knowledge!

I'm 29 and single. Never been married and no kids as of yet. I live in Texas. Pretty much as deep south as you can get in this state.

I've always been a general TMNT fan over the years. My first experience with them was probably the original animated series from the late 80's. At the time I was no older than five, which is hard to believe. I guess it must have been one of my earliest memories lol.

From there I experienced the original NES game that I absolutely loved, but hated at the same time. Once TMNT 2 came out I consumed it like a mad man. It's funny... I never actually owned the game, but I remember playing it quite a bit. I must have rented it many times and fondly remember heading to my local pizza place and playing the arcade version.

I musn't forget the movies! I loved (and still love) TMNT: The Movie and TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. Each had a different tone to it, but I loved them equally. They still hold up in my opinion. Even though TMNT III: Turtles in Time is weaker, I still can't call it a bad movie.

I'm sad to say that my TMNT love sort of drops off from there. I occasionally delved into the new series as they came out. Some were obviously better than others. The current show on Nickelodeon looks amazing, but I usually only catch an episode every once in awhile. The last video game I played, I believe, was called TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. Similar to the movie I suppose and I remember enjoying it as well. From there, it's just a drop off.

I was never exposed to the original comics growing up (or comics in general). I've been reluctant to get into collecting the Ultimate Collection because I find the whole series, along with it's tie-ins a bit convoluted. Hearing about the new IDW series getting it's own hardcover collection excited me. So I decided to make it my first foray into the comic side of TMNT. From there most likely the Ultimate Collection.

Sorry for the overly long intro. I'm a bit surprised myself that I had so much to say about TMNT, but I hope we get along.

PS: If I had to choose a favorite turtle I'd say Leonardo, but to be more specific.

In Games: (1) Leonardo (2) Donatello - Based on weapon preference.
Animated Series: (1) Leonardo (2) Raphael - Based on character preference.

Yo, nice to see more turtle fans in Texas!

Did you ever watch the 2k3 show? It's the best one, you really should look more into it. :D

Actually I did. I probably watched most of the series up to the point where they were transported into the future. It sort of became a bit disjointed for me after that. It was a great series and I have yet to see the movie that supposedly brings that series to a close. If I'm remembering correctly, this was the series Usagi Yojimbo comes out in?

Welcome! :)

I'm a pretty new fan of the turtles, the nick series got me into the whole franchise. So right now I'm catching up on the other incarnations.
I'm more of a Mikey fan, but Leo comes as a close second. :anime:

Usagi was in both the Fred Wolf & 4kids animated series', plus the Mirage comics. :)

Hey, and welcome to the drome. You sure sound like a TMNT fan to me. Always glad to meet any fan of TMNT. I'm not too familiar with the books but just now getting into reading them with my fiancee. Like you, I got on board with the OT series and toyline. You should definitely binge watch the Nick series if you ever get the chance. I love having mini marathons with that one. I'll binge watch the OT too, and my 2k3 DVDs but I try not to watch those too terribly much because they're all discontinued! Anywho, hope you have a blast here and see ya around the forums.

Oh wow. That's interesting. I'm just discovering how rich of a character he is himself.

I definitely will binge watch it. I'm not as heavy as a tv watcher as I used to be so I'll have to go out of my way to DVR or stream it.
