Possible Way For Usagi to Appear

Ok, so this just came to me yesterday night, but I think I might of thought up a way that they might end up bringing in Usagi.

See, we don't know much about Tiger Claw, but we do know he lost his tail to someone, and I was thinking, maybe the someone who chopped off his tail, was Usagi.

I know it's a stretch, but we know him losing his tail is or will be important since they took the time to bring it up in his first appearance, so then it goes, how many skilled swordsman are there in TMNT that could of gotten one over on Tiger Claw like that?

Only one I can think of, though I'm not all knowing on TMNT characters, but the only one I know of is our favorite rabbit, Usagi.

What's everyone think?

IndigoErth 10-20-2014 11:58 PM

Sounds like a good theory. :) You'd have to be pretty skilled to do that to Tiger Claw.

Would be nice to see Leo's buddy join the show, he could use one.

Powder 10-21-2014 12:11 AM

I've been thinking the same thing, actually.

Ninjinister 10-21-2014 12:26 AM

People have been saying this since it was first revealed that his tail was cut off....

Well, Ciro gave us this tiny hope, so I suppose it will happen one day, perhaps in Season 4.

well, I posted the same news yesterday in another thread and it was stans answer to some questioning of us if he would appear in the new show or not..stan saying that usagi won't appear in the new turtles cartoon doesn't automatically mean that that will not happen in the future perhaps, it just means that as of right now he is not part of the show and we shouldn't get our hope up just to tune in and seeing him in the next episode or so...
I know that stan enjoys when usagi is being produced in other media, who wouldn't love to see his character make it into pajamas, cereal or toys if he is treated right...so maybe if ciro and stuff are interested and all concerned get together one day we may see usagi one day in this new style on the screen with a little luck...

For all we know, it could be a kraang prime situation. He could act and talk like Usagi Yojimbo but his name is not Usagi Yojimbo and would have a completely different origin all together.

PangolinFeets 10-21-2014 07:12 AM

Exactly what I was thinking. How cool would that be? :D

BubblyShell22 10-21-2014 08:38 AM

I was thinking about this as well, and it makes sense. I'd love to see Usagi show up at one point but it all depends on what Stan wants to do and if he'd allow it. But I think right now he has more important things to deal with concerning his wife's illness.

HotNunchuckFury 10-21-2014 10:32 AM

I love that idea and it sounds entirely plausible. I'm all up for Usagi joining the mix.

did ciro really answer that one to me?haha, this was typed so long ago I can't even remember;)

just to make this clear- I seem to remember that during one of the last panels of the nick tmnt cast it was stated that usagi indeed would make an appearance now..but I can't be sure anymore...anyone got the right link or quote about that?

ObiWanFan4life 10-21-2014 01:54 PM

Interesting theory, fingers crossed that he appears at some point. I think it be cool if he was either from another dimension or an alien from a planet similar to feudal japan.

I guess Ciro was responding to everyone in that thread who was disappointed to hear that Usagi will never be showing up in Nick TMNT (or so they thought).

I have been following all the SDCC/NYCC TMNT panels every year and don't recall any official mention of Usagi so far. Was it brought up during any offline interviews instead?

yohanc 10-24-2014 08:17 AM

I think usagi has a chance to appear in the series
Since splinter is missing now, maybe usagi can become the turtles substitute sensei
Although I totally have no idea what usagi should teach to the turtles, but he could be a great sensei for leo since both of them use katana as their weapon and usagi is a samurai
But from comic con 2014, there is still no single clue about usagi yet

This is how I would not want Usagi to appear, just to skirt some copyright infringement. Nah, I'd rather they respect the creator and just see if maybe Peter Laid will be brought in to write and episode or two, and then Stan can join in, other than that, if he doesn't want his character in the show, then just respect his decision and move on.

THGhost 10-24-2014 03:24 PM

I like the theory, would be a good way of introducing him. The question is, does anyone even want him to appear? :P

Leofan26 10-25-2014 01:27 AM

I'd love to have him in the series, he was one of my favorite characters from the 4Kids series and like some one said Leo needs a friend like that right now :(

Note: Usagi is not slated to appear on the show anytime soon, if ever. From the letter column to Usagi Yojimbo: Senso (the mini-series taking place of the regular book at the moment) #3, which came out earlier this month:

Quote:

Stan Sakai: Usagi will not be crossing over with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, at least not in the TV series or the merchandising. We did talk but could not come to an agreement. I enjoyed the crossovers when Kevin and / or Peter owned the turtles.

Eh, the way things have been going in the show, I don't blame him.

Rather disappointed to hear that. I was really looking forward to it, there's so much potential. Refusing to crossover simply because Kevin/Peter no longer own the franchise just isn't very convincing to me. Hopefully Ciro can figure something out eventually since he said before that "things are always changing".

Except that's not what Sakai said, at all. "Did not reach an agreement and prefers to deal with Peter or Kevin" is by no means the same thing as "Did not reach and agreement because he prefers to deal with Peter or Kevin", so please don't twist his words around. He gave Nickelodeon / Ciro a shot at convincing him, and they failed. If anyone's at fault, it's not Sakai.
