I don't get the appeal. It looks pretty much the same as the N64 version, the music sounds exactly the same, and I still don't completely understand why MM is suddenly the Zelda game to play, supplanting OoT.

I don't have a 3DS anyway.

Says it all.

Anyway, Buying this Day 1! Literally the most enthralling game I've ever played. :tgrin:

Even if I DID have a 3DS I wouldn't care to buy this. I have the original version already, and there clearly isn't a marked contrast between the two versions.

The poster and box art look great though.

Gunpowder 11-05-2014 04:31 PM

No....no....nonono...PLEASE don't tease me....Please tell me this is legitimate. I literally jumped out of my seat when I saw this.

So much this.

Just watch Game Theory's Majoras Mask Episode and you'll understand.

Powder 11-05-2014 05:41 PM

No, I'm good on that.

Shark_Blade 11-05-2014 05:51 PM

I have Ocarina of Time 3D and this is the perfect sequel I've been waiting for. Finally!

I've developed a great liking for it after reading the creepypasta story "Ben Drowned". :tlove::D

I'm fairly new to LoZ, and Ocarina of Time 3D was my first experience. After finishing it, I tried playing Majora's Mask on pc emulator once... and it was terrible, the graphic I mean. Thank God for this remake.

AT-Man 11-05-2014 06:21 PM

I kinda wanna buy it for everything else in the box than the game.

Gunpowder 11-05-2014 06:28 PM

After seeing some of the graphic changes (i.e. the moon looking constipated), I'm not quite as hyped. I really hope they didn't half-ass this thing. One of my favorite games of all time, as it's very much my style (though it definitely isn't for everyone). So if they f*cked it up...not gonna be too happy.

I'm pretty sure there are at least two of those, and I've seen them both. The purgatory theory is pretty dead-on.

Is there even a single image of the Majora's Mask Moon NOT looking constipated? Cause that'd be pretty boring...

So not only do you not get the appeal but also refuse chances of wanting to get the appeal. Why are you even on this thread?

 Well, maybe that wasn't the right word...I don't know, the new one just looks bad to me. The face is too big and exaggerated (and takes up nearly the entire surface on one side). I personally thought it looked better before.

Not really. How would the Hero of Time have had descendants (TP Link is his descendant) if he were killed as a young boy? It doesn't add up.

I feel like people like Majora's Mask just because it's, you know, different. Not necessarily because it's a great game (it totally is) - it's just different, and Zelda fans these days are all whiny about how they want Aonuma to "change up" the Zelda conventions, so they latch on to the Zelda game that isn't like the others.

CyberCubed 11-05-2014 06:46 PM

Some of you need to be educated. Majora's Mask was one of the best Zelda games ever created. Some prefer it over Ocarina of Time.

People often forget how ugly N64 games looked, and just like Ocarina was a major graphic upgrade over the original so will Majora's Mask.

Allio 11-05-2014 06:51 PM

I have been thinking about getting into legend of zelda, might just get this

Just because he dies as an adult doesn't mean he has to be an adult in purgatory. I see it as a huge flashback sequence; he goes through it seeing the same faces he did as a child, so it makes sense for him to be a child while revisiting those memories.

You act like that's a bad reason to like it.

Fans having a circlejerk about creepypastas & headcanon is lame as f*ck to me. It is what it is. Also you can clearly see why I'm here. Posts aren't only valid when they're positive, sunshine.

You're the one who needs to be educated, Mr. Myopionsarefacts.

It definitely boils down to this, to some extent. I'm sure there are lots of dedicated Zelda fans who just genuinely love the game & are excited about it, but I feel like a hefty chunk of the hype is credit to the kind of internet culture that revels in things being dark & edgy or different just for the sake of it.

That's not really true, look up the reviews of the game when it originally came out in 2000. It was critically acclaimed across the board.

The reason there's so many meme's and cult following of it is because people loved the game and grew up with it. You do realize in 2015 the game will be celebrating its 15th anniversary, right? Likewise some fans already experienced it on the Wii Virtual Console back in 2008 or so when it came out.
