AND I'm Back... hopefully

I have been MIA for awhile, and I have missed it here.
Some crazy stuff has been going on in my life and it's prevented me from being online too much. Most of it being personal stuff going on. I had, and then lost a girlfriend, being helping my family, extreme depression, health problems, full time employment, semesters starting in school, car problems, new computer (I miss Photoshop...). And a fun 'lil trip to the ER:
(tagged for image sizes).

But I think I'm back, and just wanted to say "Hi" again.
For some reason it just felt weird jumping back on the boards, getting into discussions again, and pretending the last few months/year(?) didn't happen ('cus I have been putting up with a lot of stuff...)
Hope this is a good enough place to make a topic like this.

Damn son, I knew ya weren't around, but holy sh*t.

FlogginMcMurryZombiePizza 12-05-2014 12:52 AM

YO Leo! Yea man, lots 'o **** been happening. But I been trying to catch up... little things like my comic book, to commissions, school work, and etc.

Hell, I dont even have my Gold anymore to play Xbox online. Hoping I can get back to that again. (atleast I dont need it anymore to watch Netflix or YouTube).

It's not all been bad **** either. Aside from trying to get my head back on straight (not sure if I succeeded),
I had a convention (although I didn't get to release my new edition for Zombie B.C. because a restaurant server spilled coffee on my pages), and a concert or two.
Things overall though, have just been really trying and weighing on me since I have moved.

Powder 12-05-2014 12:58 AM

I remember you, hey man. Sorry to hear things have been so sh*t, you're not alone in that. Still following the modern turtles media?

FlogginMcMurryZombiePizza 12-05-2014 01:11 AM

I saw the movie in 3D on my birthday (Aug 10) and double featured it with Guardians of the Galaxy.
My girlfriend-at-the-time took me to see them. She figured my big draw was on TMNT so she felt we should see that in 3D. Start of the night we saw Guardians. Hilarious film! Laughed through out the movie and was very surprised by it since I had no idea how it would be based on the trailers.
Then we went for the 3D TMNT. Ugh. I still wish we switched film priorities. I didn't want to fight her on it, she seemed determined that we would see TMNT in 3D despite saying we didn't NEED to (and especially when I wasn't getting the Mask glasses). I know she did it 'cus she knew I love me some Turtle Power. the 3D was decent enough, the visual effects were solid. I can't complain that the Turtles, as CG creatures, didn't look awesome on the technical standpoint. But the film was weak and I had other complaints too that I would rather discuss in the movie's topic forum.
I'll probably buy the movie regardless. Normally I get steelbook releases but the TMNT steelbook looks dumb, so I'll probably get a character slipcover exclusive from Target with a bonus disc.

I own all the DVDs of the show thus far, but I'm not caught up on what's been aired. My Guide channel is messed up and Nick especially shows up some number of hours behind... so when it says the TMNT are on, it's actually some pre-schooler show.
I love this series. I'm very impressed with it.

The last TMNT game I have played is Out of the Shadows. I still enjoy it and hope it's a launching pad for another game. I have been reconnecting with my SNES Turtles in Time though.

I am caught up to issue #38 in the IDW series. AWESOME so far! Out of all the new iteration of the franchise (IDW, Nick, Bay) the movie is the weakest link in the otherwise solid chain.
I have no transport to get to my comic shop so my box is just filling with months of books... ugh.

I have been keeping an eye out on the toys as best as I could. I own the movie version of Donnie, the comic book Don and Raph, 2 Squirrelanoids (army building!), and Rocksteady. I have still not seen Slash, Tiger Claw, Stockman Fly, Turflytle, or Serpent Karai.

Umm... hmm... does that cover the recent Turtle media? lol

Seems we're on the same page, then. Be glad you were gone when you were, the boards went to hell over that damn movie. Tens of people were banned, the section was locked, it was pure madness. :tlol: Good to know your turtle passion doesn't die off when times get hard, that's when us fans need them most, I say! Stockman Fly, Turfltyle & Karai aren't out yet, & I don't think they're set to be until like February or something. Yep, that's pretty much all the current TMNT media. Well, except for the Broadway musical starring the Harlem Globetrotters.

Cure 12-05-2014 01:36 AM

Damn, man, who did you owe money to?

Davetello 12-05-2014 01:51 AM

Really sorry that things have been rough for you, pal. Great to see you back online and hope you enjoy restarting your posting.

haha oh damn! Really?! I havn't even looked for the movie topics lol That's amazing. And really sad that one movie caused that much problems in the fanbase. Yea, it really wasn't good... arguably better than TMNT 3... but there's enough better stuff coming that the movie, though disapointing, shouldn't "ruin" it all for people.

Unless we were at the end of the line with the Turtles... like when TMNT3 came, and the cartoons were basically done, and the toys and merch stopped... and the only other thing to come was The Next Mutation.
We atleast still have stellar comics and an impressive cartoon (which, I believe, was even nominated recently?)

... but a Broadway musical with the Globetrotters? Wha?

Lmfao, perfect response.

Anyway dude, glad you came back after all that. Sounds (and looks) like things were pretty gruesome for a while, so it's good to see you've somewhat recuperated. This place is (usually) a good escape from all that, so I can't say I blame you for returning.

I read this post having looked at the avatar. I was thinking "Cubed seems way too open and complimentary in this post", then realised it was a different poster when I saw the name

You're right not to change your avatar mate. You had it first. Cubed is a plagiarist!
