CIRO NIELI: First of all, I’m glad you guys aren’t watching a show called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Thanks for watching, I think the support’s been great. I’ve been seeing so much of a huge fan base from the UK, it’s kind of overwhelming. I’m open to suggestions, thoughts, and opinions but for the most part thank you and I’m always happy when I can show this show in a different country and still keep the original voice talent too. You guys get the real effect of it and the voice talent is really strong on this show. I’ve watched this show in Italian, Korean, Japanese and Chinese and it was really strange. Italian was very strange as I speak Italian and it kinda freaked me out. The language gets a little blue and cheeky in translation and they’re cool with it, which is odd.

Actually, most of the Asian dub of the show are quite good, I have watched the Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese as well as my own country's Malay language version of the show. The Japanese dub is probably the most bizarre of those I watched, the voice actors tend to raise their voice a lot and over-exaggerate emotions in their voice tone, but I guess that's a pretty common thing in Japan! The other language dubs are relatively balanced in tone and more similar to the original English dub in terms of expression quality.
That being said, translation quality is sometimes a hit or miss as certain jokes do not translate well to a different language (such as the time Mikey thinks that "wrong" is spelled with R). On the other hand, I also came across some translated words that made even better sense than the original English dub, and sometimes more fitting to the situation at hand! These cases are of course culture-independent and only people who understand the language well would get the inside-joke or intended meaning right. I laughed so hard at the Cantonese version of Parasitica when Mikey said "Leo, you went crazy, dude" and got translated to "李奥,你发神经啊" which is a very funny way of teasing someone that he has gone absolutely nuts, if you know the language. Although it doesn't really sound that funny in English, if at all.
