Future TMNT Movie stories, characters in sequels + actors & actresses who'll play them

Doesn't anyone wish TMNT had more sequels?

In the second movie:
- Casey Jones
- Bebop & Rocksteady
- Kraang

In the third movie:
- Baxter Stockman
- Rahzar
- Slash

And I wish Shredder would reveal his face behind the armor.

Coola Yagami 01-04-2015 11:05 AM

At this point we should probably stop making new movie topics. They're just gonna end up being locked anyways.

I don't know if I'd want to see Rahzar in a future movie. Slash is even kinda up in the air for me.

I'd like to see Terry Crews and Ron Perlman as Bebop and Rocksteady though. That'd be pretty great.

That would have been a great idea.

Coola ain't wrong, though. It's pretty obvious nobody is supposed to be posting in this section at the moment and that threads are only staying open until a Mod notices, at which point they're locked.

Even stuff that is only one or two posts and zero arguing or dissent is getting locked. He was stating a fact: All threads in this section ARE going to be locked on principle until the Mods say otherwise.

No reason to give him the ol' "eye roll" for stating a fact. He's correct.

B-Man 01-04-2015 05:19 PM

Why is the movie section locked again?

pennydreadful 01-04-2015 05:21 PM

Because the mods are sick of the constant fighting with the same people over the same stupid stuff, having to constantly break up fights and delete pages upon pages of comments with personal attacks/name-calling/general histrionics, etc.

B-Man 01-04-2015 05:47 PM

That's not gonna fix anything though. Mods should just send a message/warning to those few who they find culpable or who are always in the middle of fights (doesn't take a detective), tell them to stop getting so wound up and/or be more accepting of other peoples opinions. Boom. Done. Closing off the section is just a temporary fix.

Leo656 01-04-2015 06:10 PM

People who have been here all of five minutes and do nothing but stir things up always cry "playing favorites" whenever they're scolded, because the Powers That Be naturally lean towards people who have been here a long time whenever disagreements come up. So, everyone gets "punished" because in reality nobody can be punished without causing more caterwauling.

And we should probably start drifting the talk back towards other things. Even though I guess it's pointless; even this one's only still open because the staff have real jobs.

Davetello 01-04-2015 06:18 PM

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to 'lean towards people who've been here a long time', though. That's forum hierarchy and exists on many fora, not just this one. It's not a good thing & it's a big problem with forums in general. What does post count or length of time posting have to do with anything? In fact, post counts should probably be abolished from forums as they serve no positive purpose, only negative.

Personally speaking, I'm getting into that 'regular poster' level. I hate to think that someone will favour me over a newbie in an argument even when I'm wrong and they're right. That just sucks.

B-Man 01-04-2015 06:28 PM

Exactly, Dave. I couldn't give a damn if someones been here 5 years or 5 minutes. I judge people here by how they correspond with others. I've-been-here-for-years-therefore-I-can-talk-down-to-everyone  No.

Leo656 01-04-2015 06:40 PM

I disagree, the "hierarchy" is a GREAT thing. This place isn't the most active board around, but the quality of discussion is pretty high most times, regardless. A lot of that comes from the fact that most people have been here a while and have established some kind of rapport with the other people here. Some folks are genuinely "friends", or at least could give each other a good-natured razzing without worrying it was going to get taken out of context. Meanwhile, every time there's a new cartoon or movie, the place gets flooded with a ton of "OMG Cowabunga dudez! I remember TMNT I used to love Mickey the best PIZZA TIME DUDE!" and inane stuff like that. Nobody needs that, and luckily it dies off pretty quick, but sometimes they need a little "push" out the door, or at least a push to stop acting like little kids if they want to stick around. Otherwise they're just irritating the hell out of people.

This place has been really elitist for as long as I can remember, and I'm not going to say it's a bad thing, because frankly I don't believe it is. Quite the opposite; every time there's a flood of "new" members, the Forum IQ drops 80 points, until the most thin-skinned people inevitably pull the "YOU GUYS ARE SO MEAN!" card and disappear. The ones who can hang, mostly adapt and evolve into Respected Posters. Sure, there's still dissension, but that's anywhere. Some people just don't like each other. But it's usually for more personal reasons other than, "He Didn't Like The Movie", which is what most of the "fights" involving Newer People this year have been about.

Frankly, I know it's "elitist" and all that, but I think a person needs more than a Hot Topic TMNT shirt to be "Drome Worthy". This place wouldn't be as fun, or the discussions so entertaining, if it was overly "nice" or people didn't have to "earn" respect. Beyond that, there's Every Good Reason why a Mod or Admin would give the benefit of the doubt to someone who's "established" over some "rookie". For one thing, there's a long-standing record of behavior, established precedent, things like that. In the event of a conflict, they can look back and say, "Wow, you know, he's really way out of line today, but it's a rare occurrence, and besides, look how this Other Guy is blatantly pushing for a scrap." Meanwhile, someone who's only been here a few minutes doesn't have anywhere near as much slack. And that's Totally Fair, as they haven't Earned any.

That's true of any social "gathering", by the way, not just message boards. You can put your feet on the table and make a little ruckus if you're friends with the guy who owns the house, not if it's your first visit and you just walked in the door. Make sense?

They've done that before: public and warnings, temp bans, sectional bans, ad nauseum. I'm posting here (because, well, I'm bored) but really, I don't care if the movie sections are locked up. If people can't manage to not act like dickheads in the movie section, then we don't deserve to have a movie section - it's not something that people here are owed and the mods shouldn't have to babysit and break sh*t up constantly. The moderation on the 'drome is extremely relaxed as it is - people get away with a lot here. It's not like TPTB are asking for much - just that people don't carry on like utter spanners over a freaking movie.

Leo656 01-04-2015 06:44 PM

If nothing else, maybe separating the movie forums into "classic" and "modern" sections would help. Probably not, as both sections would be invaded by people saying "Old/New TMNT sucks, New/Old TMNT is so much better", but hey, never let it be said that I don't try and come up with solutions.

It's just usually a lot easier to swear at people until they go away. But SOMEtimes I offer solutions.

Davetello 01-04-2015 06:55 PM

B-Man - yep. That's the way to think. After five posts I liked you more than people who have been here since the dinosaurs were alive. What relevance has length of time posting to anything? It simply drives away new users and makes forums less heterogeneous and poorer as a result.

Leo - I have to disagree. Some of the worst posters on this site - in my estimation - are the long-term posters, and some of the best are those who have been posting for fewer than two years. What you describe is forum dynamics - that's completely different to quality of poster. Yes, past relationships mean that the site has some sort of foundation for debate but that doesn't actually have anything to do with quality of posting.

I was a long-term poster on a previous site and I used to give me 'mates' sh!t for being cvntish to the new posters. At the risk of being judgemental 'forum cliques' are the most pathetic thing on the internet. I've NEVER understood them. I mean would you be a cvnt to someone who wanted to join your circle of friends offline?

B-Man 01-04-2015 06:56 PM

Leo, I don't know if your alpha-male mentality comes from being a wrestler, but it's ridiculous in context of a message board & is the exact bullsh*t that causes arguments and boards to be closed down.

Be rude to everyone new & if they can't handle it, they don't deserve to be here.

I was gonna point out the absurdity of your post, but it's so blatant there's no need to. I say treat everyone how you'd like to be treated. Call me old-fashioned.

That's actually a good idea. Especially if they want to turn this into a franchise and make a PD TMNT Trilogy. Givin then their own section would solve things and also add some kind of 'if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen' kinda warning on it.

None whatsoever, which is rare for you. I have no problem telling people here they're pricks, regardless of how long they've been posting. I also have no problem explaining when a moderator makes a mistake. The best moderators take and accept criticism - they don't think they're above it simply because they're in a position of power (not referring to this site's mods btw, who are MOSTLY okay, but mods generally on forums). You're coming across as someone who feels subordinate to authority.

Actually his posts are beta. Alphas wouldn't bow to 'long-term posters' or 'authority'.

Also, wrestlers aren't facially attractive. Most of them are ugly and insecure which accounts for the desperate need to work out and sculpt huge but unattractive bodies. A classic example of this sort of insecurity is Batista - ugly face, so works out and ends up being monstrously, disgustingly muscular. They also have low money/status in the grand scheme of things, despite being pretty famous. There are some anomalies, like Randy Orton. Now that guy has his body just right and his face is pretty good looking. Shame about the tribal tatts but nobody's perfect.

If pro wrestlers do think they're alpha, then someone needs to bring them down a peg or 8. The way a wrestler looks isn't typically the look most women like. Even Shawn Michaels - major hunk in the wrestling world. But even when I show prime HBK photos to women who care nothing for wrestling (and hence don't have a bias towards wrestler status), they think he looks ****ing ridiculous.

The fact of the matter is that the major hunks of the wrestling world - HBK, Cena - don't get the universal female admiration that many soccer players do, or that Johnny Depp does. It's a niche industry and you can't be alpha when your appeal is niche.

In reference to my character assassination on wrestlers, John Cena is a fantastic example. I think Cena's good looking, but almost every time I've shown a photo of him to a female who doesn't know who he is and who think wrestling is garbage they're like "ewww, he's fugly. What's wrong with his blockhead?"

Yet female wrestling fans think he's the hottest person in the WWE. STATUS & REPUTATION...is what counts in attraction and alpha status.

The Stryker 01-04-2015 07:45 PM

Whoa that came out of nowhere.

Hold up. You surveyed women on if a wrestler is attractive?
