Official Ep Discussion: S3 Ep11: "The Pig and the Rhino"

So... imagine my surprise when I go to check out TMNTMaster's tumbler for some sort of update about the show. The site's completely gone. :teek:

So, we get our first taste of the new Bebop and Rocksteady. Plus, it seems Donnie's going to try and cure Karai with a dose of retro-mutagen. I'm sure Splinter will be pleased to have her cured, but I'm curious how April will feel - her father's still out there as a mutant. How much longer should he wait?

I hope everyone remembered last night was Daylight Savings.

Show starts in 30 minutes.

TigerClaw 03-08-2015 08:57 AM

Almost time for the episode.

GoldMutant 03-08-2015 08:59 AM

To quote Bowser: Showtime!!!

TigerClaw 03-08-2015 09:00 AM

Here we go!

Vicky82 03-08-2015 09:07 AM

Holy crap, what!!!!!! I didn't know that.

TigerClaw 03-08-2015 09:18 AM

That escalated quickly.

Meanwhile, Bebop hates his name.

Very awesome episode.

Pretty good episode and I like Bebop and Rocksteady in this incarnation. I loved the roller coaster and haunted house parts, it was a nice change of pace.

They were pretty humorous too and I liked how Leo tricked Rocksteady by not giving him his words.

Nice, Bebop and Rocksteady are both credible threats but still not the sharpest tools in the box. Nice having them attack Shredder and establishing that Shredder could off them easily single handedly if he wanted. They'll definitely betray him if they can get the upper hand somehow however.

Plus Casey and Donnie actually works really well together now. Nice touch.

i really enjoyed it. the animators did a great job on the roller coaster scenes but...
Spoiler:
i really wanted karai to go back with the turtles instead of getting caught and brought to the shredder.

TigerClaw 03-08-2015 09:35 AM

What a great episode.

xenopokemon 03-08-2015 09:35 AM

I loved this episode, 9/10 for making me mad that the retromutagen didn't work. Bebop hates his name, great he's going to be like Baxter Stockman hating people that misname him. If any of you waited after the end of the episode, the Mighty Mutanimals are real! Slash, Leatherhead, Monkey Brains, and Pigeon Pete! HYPE!!!

Vicky82 03-08-2015 09:36 AM

I missed 10 mins of the episode but it was really good episode but sadly it's got overshadowed by Battle for New York as it was released early.

So Shredder has Karai now and it looks like he's going to manipulate her.

pannoni1 03-08-2015 09:37 AM

I don't post as much as I used to (avoiding the BoNY spoiler is a plus as I'm going to watch it later today), but will continue posting my opinions on each episode. Homages to He-Man during the and a mini-Leonardo vs. Tempestra ride during the coaster scene. Meanwhile, poor Karai at the end, the turtles didn't understand that the mutagen leaked and went into the sea or sewers somewhere. I almost feel like she might get put on a bus for awhile based on her reaction. Next week should be interesting with Slash, Leatherhead, and other "Mutanimals" against the Kraang, especially given it being a double episode. I like how Nick has handled Bebop & Rocksteady; conflicting personalities, not the dimwits they were in much of the OT, and Bebop in particular has more special powers (laser eyes and skating between buildings without needing a rope). We get a cheesy April damsel mixed in, but it was quite an enjoyable episode to watch.

Overall: 8.5/10

Not bad, the new B&R seems to be competent though not having very bright minds. At least they completed their job for Shredder (yeah it's a bummer ending, but this is probably the best way to go for now)

Welp. Guess I'm going to go watch that now.
