Kraang-April: Should we have seen it coming?
 

So, we know that April in the 2012 series has Kraang blood, but given her very name, should that have clued us in??

A writer friend of mine was looking for an alias for April to use in a fic of his, and eventually came up with one by calling her Avril and pulling an Alucard and spelling her last name backward: Avril Lieno.

And that's when it hit me: A. Lien'O

Alien.

My head exploded. This was literally a mind-blowing epiphany that hit me out of nowhere.

Now, I don't presume to be the first to have noticed this "coincidence," but has this ever been dealt with in the series or comics? (I certainly haven't seen it in 2k3, or anything blatant in 2012...) Have you ever seen it dealt with in fanon, or is it (pardon the pun) an alien concept?

Chalk it up to a nifty coincidence. April was never an alien in the comics (though she was something entirely different in the tail end of the Mirage run). This alien hybrid thing is a new concept unique to 2K12.

Like I said, her mother got Kraang sperm injected into her vagina thus April was born.

Was it through experimentation, by force or mutual consent? That remains a mystery.

The twist was pretty predictable, although I thought she was going to turn out to be a magic drawing as in Vol 4.

well lucky for april she seems to inherited her mothers looks xD. Not to think about what she had looked like if the Kraang DNA would dominate

Heh, I remember that episode of Young Justice where we found out what Miss Martian really looked like and how she was just hiding her true appearance from her friends with a fierce desperation.

well i wouldn't blame april to do the same...i mean its not that appealing to appear like a brain at all lol.
