Will they ever address 2nd Mutations again?

It seemed like it was a big deal what with Dogpound mutating into Rahzar. It seemed like a potentially interesting plot element that never seemed to go anywhere (similar to the tons of lost mutagen cannisters thar seemed to be forgotten).

Personally I'd think Pigeon Pete would be an excellent candidate to get an upgrade, or perhaps Fishface on Shredder's end. Seriously, if he's so keen on having his mutant henchman, why wouldn't he amp them up via a second dip in mutagen?

I sure hope so. Just watched that episode a half hour ago, actually. A classic. Would totally love to see that plot explored further. I'd say there's a good chance for Slash or Fishface to undergo a second mutation.

CyberCubed 05-16-2015 11:08 PM

Probably not. I think its too late to expect Fishface to get double mutated by now.

Pigeon Pete is fine as he is, don't you dare mutate him more.

I like Pete, don't get me wrong, but he just seems a candidate, if no other reason than to lose the green boils and become more toyetic.

I hope not. They only mutated Dogpound into Rahzar because the writers didn't like Dogpound, and the alternative was to be killing him off for real.

Plus in this show it looks to be a permanent (incurable) type of mutation, which makes it special, and seeing more of it just looks too much like they are reaching for toy advertising again.

If anything they need to start de-mutating people and things. If Season 4 is the last one, they'll need to start wrapping things up.

There's really no way to know if double mutation amps you up. Bradford got lucky (or unlucky in the sense that he's skin and bones now), but who's to say someone else won't mutate into something worse off?

It's too bad Mutagen Man doesn't seem to be affected since he seems to be able to consume Mutagen without mutating further. A double mutation might have been something better than waiting for years on Donnie. At the very least he should be turned into something that can walk around and talk again, and not just a random mass of organs.

There's been speculation of a Good Genes arc, so there's that.

I have a feeling it'll be brought up again.

Tarris Vaal 05-30-2015 03:34 AM

It has been brought up more than once - Mikey mentions the idea as early as the 2nd episode!

Its also a handy plot device for decommissioning some characters and 'evolving' them into something new. Fishface into Armaggon for example. Not to mention the speculation regarding one of the Turtles potentially becoming Tokka (though I guess it could also be Slash in that scenario....)
