Should Platinum dunes do an April spin off film

how would you feel if M-bay and company decided to do a tmnt spinoff film focusing on April and her story? I could see it because Fox is the strong base of their iteration of TMNT already.

LOL, Don't give them any ideas, Otherwise they make a TMNT Cinematic Universe.

If they did, I wouldn't mind a Mighty Mutanimals movie.

If it means no April in more Michael Bay TMNT movies then great.

I don't just mean that to get rid of Megan Fox but aside from being their first human connection I don't think April is all that important to the TMNT story. Then again I'm kinda guessing they'd have another human character take the lead.

not to be that guy...but this series already is April's story; everything is told from her point of view.

IndigoErth 06-03-2015 08:38 PM

They probably should have done that instead, since she's kind of unfairly too much of the focus in the Turtles' films and not fair to them. (Well, the second to still be determined, but it's looking like she still plays a large part in this...)

Somehow I have a feeling April's life would be pretty boring without the Turtles in it. Someone might have to be a pretty dedicated Fox fan to want to watch that.

Bry 06-03-2015 09:23 PM

They already did that last year. But for some reason they called it "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Wildcat 06-03-2015 10:48 PM

Why? What would be so interesting that didn't involve the turtles or their enemies?

It'd be pointless just to make something up for the sake of it. She already has an interesting life.

I was gonna say, "It's the Turtles who need a spin-off."

The rational mind would think that very few people would be interested in that - people watch TMNT to see Turtles, not follow April around... but as has already been pointed out, time (and Platinum Dune) makes fools of us all. :trolleye:

How about they make a Turtle focused movie first?

Wolfie65 06-04-2015 07:02 AM

Without the Turtles, April has no story.
Original comic book April got axed by her evil scientist boss. The End.
80's/90's cartoon April was a mediocre reporter. The End.
Current cartoon April is a cranky teen with a bald geeky dad. The End.

As much as I like Megan Fox, the absolutely last thing we need is yet 'nuddah' whip-smart Warrior Princess (TM) who battles Alien Robot Zombies From The Abyss Of Doom while also being a successful FBI agent SingleMom (C) to 3 well-adjusted kids, being worshipped simultaneously by 2 or more soap stud hunky multi-gabazillionaires, despite the fact that all she does is spew bad attitude at them 24/7.
We have plenty more than enough such shows already.

Shark_Blade 06-04-2015 08:22 AM

April is essential in TMNT. It won't be TMNT without April.

If you mean do another spin-off with April but without the turtles, then sure yes. In the TMNT series she still stays.

IndigoErth 06-04-2015 12:58 PM

*cough* As I was saying.

Yeah all those great stories that either feature April in a minimal role or not at all means she's essential.

NYShell 06-06-2015 11:28 PM

My head hurts from all these terrible suggestions lol stop

pdizzle 06-07-2015 12:43 AM

Why would anyone suggest this?

DarkFell 06-07-2015 12:57 AM

I sincerely felt that Megan Fox's character portrayal of April O'Neil just wasn't that strong enough to make me think that she'll do any better in a solo story movie. Just keep her with the Turtles and let them both share ample amounts between them. That can work more as a win = win movie idea for me.

LS Animation 06-10-2015 12:15 PM

Sales-wise it wouldn't sell if Turtles weren't involved and Megan Fox is not big enough to make the film a financial success without them especially since the story would most likely be completely awful.

plastroncafe 06-10-2015 12:57 PM

We can only hope.

"What do you want to do to the world, Ronald?"
"Burn it all."

Amaranthus 06-10-2015 01:02 PM

I'm all for an April O'Neil porn film.
