Turtles Forever Turtle incarnations

Apparently I'm not the only one to see this movie recently. I know there is another post about Turtles Forever, but I didn't want to take away from his questions by adding mine, so I did a separate post.

So, in the movie Shredder shows screens of all the supposed Turtles on different worlds. I paused the screen and attempted to name them, but I only recognized a few of them. The 90 movie and the 2007 movie. Are all those other incarnations real? If so, can anyone name all of them shown?

Yes...and no.
They're all "real" in that they're all images of the turtles from the various incarnations, though some of those incarnations are just an artists visual take on the characters.

So it's not like they all have their own separate world that's been explored.
For example, off the top of my head the one I remember the most clearly from that montage comes from a print of the turtles done by Eric Talbot. Those are the Mirage Turtles, so no separate world, they're just...the Mirage Turtles in Talbot's style.

(I particularly love that Mike very slowly raises "bunny ears" behind Raph's head in the movie.)

They showed every TMNT universe prior to the Nick era besides Next Mutation:

- 1990 Movie Turtles
- 2007 Movie Turtles
- Archie TMNT Turtles (they had two images, one as kids the other as teens)
- Mirage Turtles (this had multiple images from different Mirage artists)
- Image TMNT (part of Mirage)

And they also showed some alternate universe stuff, like the Future Turtles and the Turtles from "Same as it Never Was"

The anime turtles were also there, as well as Souls Winter.

Not to jump off topic, but anime turtles? And is Souls Winter worth getting?

Okay, so they just used different times from the same shows or comics. That explains why there were so many that I didn't recognize.

Which Mike raises bunny ears to which Raph? I'll have to watch it again and keep an eye out for that.

I take it back, it might not be Raph, but Leo.
It's this image here:

There was a 2-episode TMNT anime in 1995 based on the original cartoon where they transform into Super Turtles.

Yep. It's also fairly easy to find online subbed or even in a fandub...which i never get tired of pimping. :P

Since TNM is a sequel to the 90s movies then it did get shown technically ;)

This video is an introduction to the 2 episode anime series (done to promote various toylines conceptualized for the Japanese audience- my sig/avatar are part of the box art, actually!)

You can find both episodes broken up into several parts on Youtube if you search for it.

As for Soul's Winter, sure, I think so. Many fans hold in high regard alongside Same As It Never Was for being one of the dopest alternate universe takes on the TMNT. They're like, more primal, more beastly, & it takes place in what I believe is supposed to be Feudal Japan. Pretty dope stuff, & relatively easy to get a hold of.

OMG I can't believe they did that to the turtles. It's so off the wall crazy. They need to give the Nick turtles the Mutatstones so they can defeat Shredder in a fight for once. That would make me feel so good.

I found the Soul's Winter book online a long time ago, but I wasn't entirely sure what it was. I might have to check it out. Thanks.

Umm, actually, Cubed, TNM DID get a nod in that montage. I forget exactly where it was, but I DO remember seeing it.

Yes and no. It is a jump-off from the movies-verse, but became its own thing the minute they brought in Venus and her background. So it had a separate "world" shown. It was "blink and you miss it" though.

I was pretty certain TNM wasn't in the TF Multiverse bit, cause I vaguely remeber when the movie came out we had a discussion on why they wheren't there.

And looking around at the movie and screenshots, I can't see any Next Mutation stuff either.

From what I understand they couldn't get the rights to show footage from the series which belonged to Saban.
