Mona Lisa to appear? (sources inside)

Sooooooo.........someone posted this link on Deviantart....

If you look closely, Raphael is wearing a space suit and facing off against some sort of Newt person. Maybe some connection to the Newtrailizer. Also, is it just me or does the Newt look a bit....feminine?

If this is how the producers are going to give us Mona Lisa, I'm not sure how I feel. On one hand, I'm glad it's not another "human-turned-mutant by freak accident plot." That arc helped for the new characters in season 2, but it's pretty much run it's course. On the other hand, I was sort of hoping she'd be a LIZARD who mutated into an anthropomorphic character, like the Turtles.

Having her be from another Dimension is clever and does give us a doorway to new opportunities, but...well, I guess I was hoping to see a cute iguana or water lizard girl. But she does look neat, whomever she is. I assume this is going to be based on an upcoming episode.

I doubt it.

Plus it looks like the creature is fighting Raph with some laser sword.

If anything, It'll be a thing where Mikey sees that lizard, and just ends up calling her Mona Lisa, Since he names all mutants he meets.

Foombamaroom 07-02-2015 08:05 PM

It looks female, yeah, but I doubt it's Mona Lisa.

Yeah, and the Nick series takes huge liberties on characters, Most mutants on the show are just in name only, and are nothing like the originals.

Who knows, maybe Mikey nicknames her Mona Lisa.

That's what I'm thinking, Mikey likes naming new mutants he comes into contact with.

I'm guessing he's still sore at Donnie for naming the Newtrailizer so he jumps at the chance to name her.

Also, if she's from the same dimension as the Newtrailizer, she doesn't speak English and probably has a translator. Maybe her name doesn't translate into English well and it sounds like she's saying "Mona Lisa" when she's just hissing or growling.

I doubt that's Mona Lisa it's probably just a random Alien enemy.

Autbot_Benz 07-02-2015 08:23 PM

Its not Mona Lisa its a generic Space newt

MsMarvelDuckie 07-02-2015 08:59 PM

Why does everyone even keep calling her a newt or salamander? Mona Lisa was a lizard (which is a reptile- salamanders and newts are amphibians!) most likely an anole or other iguanid. She could also be a type of fence lizard, tree lizard, or a green or even ruin lizard, but anole is the most logical based on her body style and color.

Meliwen 07-02-2015 08:59 PM

Female? Looks like it.

Generic character? I hope not. I like that design, it would be cool to see it as a unique character.

Mona Lisa? Since it looks like an alien as opposed to a mutant, my initial guess would be no. Although obviously they could still make it Mona if they wanted, if only to use the name, since there's nothing stopping them from re-imagining the character. Especially since, as far as I'm aware, she only has one episode to her name. I just hope we'll see something about her/him at comic-con.

Interestingly enough Mona Lisa was originally going to be a female mutant turtle. But Laird objected to the idea

Papenbrook 07-02-2015 09:52 PM

I don't mind if Mona Lisa shows up. As long as she is useful and not just for fanservice, I don't really care.

BubblyShell22 07-03-2015 06:36 AM

I think everyone is jumping to conclusions here. The alien looks female, but that doesn't mean that it's going to be Mona Lisa. Could just be some random alien they fight. After all, people thought that lizard chick in that film was a reference to her and that she was coming on the show when it was just a running gag.

Amaranthus 07-03-2015 07:21 AM

It's not a running gag if it's just a one time thing.

Yeah, this is mostly my fault. I just thought it'd give us something to talk about until August.

This may not be Mona Lisa, but it does seem like something big is coming for season 4. Maybe more dimensional travel, deeper exploration into Newtrailizer's backstory, or the possible appearance of Lord Dregg. Shredder's a great villain, but I think he's run his course. Even the OT Turtles had to bring in someone new after a few seasons.

As much as I like the show, even though it has some weak points, I am afraid it'll start to get boring and turn into another cash cow for Nick to milk dry. Look what happened to Spongebob. That show used to be so entertaining and fun, but now it's so annoying and poorly written it just isn't fun anymore. I'm worried the same thing will happen to TMNT.

The non-filler episodes are great, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
You really can't compare TMNT and Spongebob.

You can if they're both owned by the same corporate entity.
