Did anybody ever wonder if it was meant to be a Ninja Turtles reference when the scene starts with two pairs of eyes looking out of a manhole, then Dante and Randal close it by standing on top of the cover? After all, the town IS named Leonardo!

Though I've watched the pilot episode a number of times, I never made that connection. I'm gonna have to go back and watch it again. It wasn't mentioned in the commentary section of the DVD like most of the odd references, but the cast and crew did skip over a good bit.

Wouldn't surprise me. :lol:

You know, I've seen that episode a few times, and it never occured to me, either. But that's probably what it was, a TMNT reference. That's one of the things that I love about Kevin Smith, he always has lots of different (sometimes tiny) references to other comics and movies in his projects.

I never realized that.

I have the DVD collection of the clerks animated series. and I swear I am not lying when I say I have seen each episode WELL over 20 times... and yet.... that reference TOTALLY blew right by me!
