Have we seen this before?
This is from a vimeo account of a guy who claims to work for ILM of some test footage for some turtle fight scenes in the Platinum Dunes movie. If this is legit then it's a shame we didn't get something like this in the movie.
https://vimeo.com/137489703 While it's still a little weird to see the these big turtles do martial arts it mostly works even in this cruder form and we should have seen some of this in the movie. BTW if this has already been posted I apologize and you can ignore. |
Its weird those graphics look better than the finished movie.
|
that was awesome why couldn't this have been in the movie.

My god those ninja-like moves and animation. This. I wish we had this.
https://d.gr-assets.com/hostedimages...7ra/772112.gif I dunno know what that is, never seen it and does seem roughly PD... Early test stuff with early rough models? Or simply someone else who does "ninja" better? But that animation is pretty sweet. (edit: Not to suggest the film's stunt guys aren't good, but behind the scenes stuff seemed to clearly show footage with them that wasn't used, dumbing down the fight scenes, which is unfortunate.) Wow a scene from the PD movie I genuinely enjoy sadly it's not apart of the actual movie.
|
Wow. That was pretty slick. Too bad we didn't see any of that in the movie. Loved their different styles.

It's alright, nothing too fancy. But still a whole lot better then what we got.
|
*sigh* how does one sit and view this and say "ehh.. cut it"
|
the fight scenes in this looks brutal, I hope we see this kind of stuff in the sequel, since there will be foot ninjas this time.
|
The Turtles are still too damn big. Not terrible, though.
|
Why are those guys not shooting?
|
The Turtles' designs and size are still garbage, but this style of action is infinitely better than what made it to screen. One-on-one combat with some brutal impact. Like -- gasp -- ninjas!
I wonder if it was cut for exactly that reason. Bigger, louder super-powered action and explosions might not feel as "real" as this. |
The thing about this fight reel is you see Leo and Raph literally kill those dudes, Leo stabbed them with his katanas, and Raph snapped one guy's neck, That's like pushing the PG-13 rating to its limit.

omg
so the blades are actually the handles and the handle is the main part of the weapon. I've been using my Sai's wrong all along. Thanks PD Raph! :tlol:
(that was sarcasm for the ones of you who didn't get it) i have a problem with the guys not shooting their guns. Give them swords or something then! But that woulda been great if it was actually in the movie. Still woulda have sucked though. The problem was never the action scenes, it was the plot, writing, designs, settings, ect. The action scenes within themselves aren't bad And honestly i woulda have preferred that exact mikey to the one we got in the movie. |
Raph holds his sai normally in that clip, not sure what the punchline of your joke was?
fyi, Sai don't have blades, but prongs. They are truncheon weapons not daggers. |
