It took me a second, but there's a hidden arrow on the top-right of the cover image.

Well we'll finally know that Batman can take down all 4 Turtles in a fight at the same time.

As if DC would allow a Batman crossover otherwise... :tsad:

Raph actually tagged him and he had to deploy the Batmobile to get an edge, so that's debatable. It wouldn't be easy but I believe the Turtles could beat Bats.

I believe so, too. But DC will never let it happen, because #batgod. :trolleye:

To be fair, I think it depends upon which set of turtles we're talking about.

The Mirage Turtles probably would've waxed his ass, long before things got out of hand. But then again, those guys are experienced fighters. Even Leo alone could have done the job, (or at least fought him to a standstill) much like he did his last tussle with Shredder.

But the IDW Turtles are still rather fresh in their careers, and it looks they wanted to portray it as such with all the rookie mistakes they were already making in that preview. If Shredder was still able to largely hand them their shells in #50, and it took Splinter to finish the job? Then it's not unreasonable to think that a Batman who's been in the game for a longer period of time would have the edge.

I'm going to say that Batman is capable of holding his own against the TMNT. They aren't trying to kill him and he's trained to defend against a lot worse for far longer than the Turtles have been around.

But hey this isn't what we are here for... I'm sure by the end of this issue everyone will get along just fine. We all know how hero crossovers go.

Oh Mikey, you little noodle

Though, the best thing about that whole opening situation is the vendor's reaction. "Well, I've seen other weird things in this town. This might as well be another"

Desslok 01-06-2016 07:16 PM

Looks like the turtles have got their hands full with this one, of course Batman DOES have home court advantage. :P

They couldn't win. Even before the internet and "Batgod", Bruce is way, way the hell out of their league and has been since at least the 70s. He's just been trained at a much higher level and has tons more of experience, plus he always has a plan. Those things have all been embellished to the point of parody over the last ten years, but even dialed back to how Batman was presented when he was first finally "done straight", post-Adam West era, he's always been out of their league. Although 4 on 1 makes it at least an interesting scenario, but even then, that's the only way.

The over-selling of Batman's capabilities in recent years annoys me greatly, too, but even getting away from that and just using the basic characters as we're familiar with them, objectively there's nothing anywhere to suggest any of them could match or defeat Bruce. In the universes where Shredder is actually a capable fighter, they only usually fight him a little bit, don't always do well, and never really fight anyone who's any better than him. Batman's handled Ra's, Deathstroke, and Lady Shiva. Suddenly it kind of seems silly to compare resumes, or argue who's actually a more capable fighter, no? Like, where are people getting the idea they could win? What's their honest record? Yeah, I'unno.

There's just to much supposition and "what if" required to create a scenario where the Turtles would actually win. It would require shenanigans, which in turn negates any "victory". Just nah.

But yeah, that's not why we're here. Sorry. I just can't wrap my head around the logic that the Turtles could beat Batman in a fight and it tickles me a little when people suggest it. :trazz:

I'm not saying they should necessarily win but with the four of them together it should at least give bats a run for his money. So far hes handling the guys like any other regular mook encounter in the arkham games. this should be a boss fight.

I wouldn't use that example, but lets go with it. Part of what makes the Arkham game's really fun is that you have to BE Batman in order to really get deep into it. When you are fighting a group of guys instead of a boss character I think it can end up being more intense because there is more to be concerned about. Yes the Turtles are all very capable but Batman is a master of crowd control. That isn't to say that the TMNT don't fight mostly groups of opponents but Batman has much more experience than these guys.

I'm not hating here, I love all of these characters, but I'm not a big fan of the TMNT being portrayed as much stronger than they actually are. I do not subscribe to the notion that the mutagen made them any stronger than say an olympic athlete. No bullet proof shells please, just the results of their strict training and teamwork. Batman of course isn't supernatural or has any sort of extra physical or meta human powers so they should all be on the same scale.

Given that the TMNT are teenagers and Batman is nearly 40 it's pretty much a given that he would know and be capable of much more than they would. The only thing that would edge them out over him is their number and effort as a team, which is exactly what Batman is prepared to handle unlike most of their foes. The X factor being that the Ninja Turtles are the tightest most cohesive family in comic books might be enough to stand up to him but this whole thing is just a draw waiting to happen.

I feel like I'm back at recess talking about all of this. :tlol:

I want Batman to take out all 4 Turtles and to stop fighting when he gets to Splinter

myconius 01-13-2016 11:52 AM

i think the fight pretty much went hope it would have expected it to have gone, and i was very satisfied with the results! :)

i think splinter stepped in just in the nick of time before Leo started getting into protective "don't mess with my family" mode.

but i'm REALLY loving this series so far!!!

can't wait for the next issue!!! :D

and it was REALLY awesome to see that IDW TMNT add right at the very end!
not sure if i remember seeing one in the first issue or not? but it was pretty awesome that it was there!
