Will Bebop and Rocksteady become more idiotic like in the 1987 series?
 

In 1987 series, Bebop and Rocksteady becomes so idiotic.

In 2012 series, Bebop (Anton Zeck) and Rocksteady (Ivan Steranko) is more serious.

Would they become more idiotic the next time we see them?

where do you come up with these random threads? no they will continue to be part more serious and part comedy relief.

You are making way too many threads.

The 1987 series was a slap stick comedy and both Rocksteady and Bebop are there for comic relief mostly.


In the current version yes the two of them aren't the brightest crayons in the box...but they are still Dangerous and have proved to be a challenge for the Turtles from time to times.

But they also have notable weaknesses as well. Bebop because he advertises where he is by his voice. And Rocksteady because he throws his weight around when he attacks.

That and they are both gullible.

In the OT, Bebop and Rocksteady were an actual challenge for the Turtles in the beginning, like their game counterparts (I'm thinking of the first arcade game). They were strong and all that stuff, but over time since the show became more and more comedic, they, in-turn, had to become super comedic and also they were dumbed down. Personally, this IS something I hated about the OT. I like how they were portrayed in the beginning. Being defeated by the Turtles or tricked by them, I wouldn't have had a problem with. Becoming part of Shredder and Krang's dysfunctional family as the man-children, no.

As for this version of Bebop and Rocksteady, I couldn't see them going down that path. I could see them put into situations where they'll always lose because they're the bad guys (and a bit gullible at times), but not dumbed down to the point of them being dangerously stupid like their OT counterparts. We haven't seen that with the other henchmutants yet. Why would Nick do that with these two? I like this reimagining of them, personally (surprisingly since I was one of the ones who didn't want them in this series along with Fly Baxter). They also hate Shredder so....yeah. OT Bebop and Rocksteady (later on) were scared of Shredder. In the beginning, it's obvious that they weren't intimidated by him but later became intimidated by him...no idea why. I can buy their apprehension and intimidation with the Nick version.

I also agree with how they both have their weaknesses, especially Bebop. He talks too darn much. :lol:

The later cartoon seasons made Bebop and Rocksteady seem incredibly weak. A friggin mutant rhino and warthog.... afraid of normal human gang members? Please. Rocksteady, as dumb as he is, showed he could still run through a brick wall and he was still afraid of his old gang. It seemed they were only tough when they were against one of the turtles on their own (usually poor Michealangelo) or just when they were beating random security guards. Any other time they seemed weak as hell.

Highly highly doubt it.

Yeah. I didn't like that either. Season 1 and 2 Bebop and Rockstready were okay for me, though. They'd been toned down, but they still weren't weaklings and stuff yet and weren't fully intimidated by Krang and Shredder yet.

As much it would amuse me to see how it would play out if Shredder(2k12) and Kraang Prime(in place of Krang) take the place as bickering parents and Bebop and Rocksteady the roles of their idiotic man-children, i can't see it happening in the new cartoon. The overall tone of these two is totally different.

They'll eventually become less and less competent. Such is the law of toy selling.
