What is an RPG?

what could an RPG mean in this case? the only RPG i know is a role-playing game or one of those choose your adventure things. ar all of these RPGs one of the following?

Yes, the two RPGs currently going on in this thread are role-playing games. Each of us have chosen a character to play, and we react to everyone else's post accordingly. It's actually a lot of fun, if you'd like to give it a try. A lot of our players have gone missing, so I think some of the turtles are up for grabs.
