Turtles in Time done right!

This is great. We even know how Raph's shell is chipped! Brandon Auman wasn't lying!

Yes and no. How did he get the chip on the back part of his shell? Only the front part popped off. It looks like a pretty big scar that carries over to the back. This is still one of my favorite shorts. Very nicely done.

Perhaps that's how it started, then in battle it got worse.

Why are the Nick turtles drawn anime style?

Powder 07-24-2016 05:11 PM

This is already being discussed in the Nick section.

Nelson 07-26-2016 08:47 AM

That was absolutely great!

Because it's awesome.

Just noticed the anime turtles had only two toes instead of three:

And erm... Donnie had a tail? :tanime:

Etsyturtle2 07-28-2016 11:46 AM

Those are definitely based on the pd movies

No, it's his mask.

The 80s Turtles looked ok, much better than the previous crossover where it looked like Flash animation.

And the other ones look... haunting.

Mind explaining in detail what you don't like? Maybe that these Fred Wolf Turtle cameos are starting to get old (which was something I didn't like about it)?

evan2000 08-02-2016 01:07 PM

While browsing through more concept arts for this short, I happened to learn that the main character designer for the turtles and April is Kaori Matsuo, also known as s-bis/moy, who has a gallery on DA full of reimagined TMNT designs :tgrin:

Admittedly these are basically fanarts; but there's this comic titled "you are" that I can't even

They have a bit more credit to their name, too, as they've done some variant covers for IDW. :)

I'm so envious of them. :tlol:

Then they should stop teasing us and do a DVD FW movie. ;)

Meh, between Transdimensional having zero effect on the ratings and Out of the Shadows only making 40% of what the last movie did, it's rather obvious that trying to nakedly pander to FW crowd isn't working, so they will probably stop pulling this type of crap.

My thoughts.

1. Transdimensional turtles ratings were probably due to Nickelodeon not even advertising the episode as a crossover(or barely advertising for the show at all). Seriously, I never saw one ad for the episode.

2. Out of The Shadow's box office earning were possibly more due to a combination people being burned from the first movie and competition from other(much better) movies.

Well the point still stands, not enough people seem to care about the Fred Wolf stuff for it to make a difference. Even if the episode was poorly advertised and the movie had a lot of competition, if the Fred Wolf elements really were that marketable you'd figure at least one of them would generate some buzz, instead the result was mediocre viewership and an ongoing failure.

It's entirely possible most people don't look back at on Fred Wolf cartoon as a cartoon classic, that to them it was just fad in the late 80's they can only vaguely remember.
