what is your favorite shredder OT diss and would it have been allowed in this PC era

with this pc world now where everyone cant take a joke or insult.. would the shredder and krangs verbal abuse lasted in this new poop era? i mean everyone has to apologize for everything they say now (sorry I used the word poop earlier)

i never hear anyone really doing the old school disses like shredder and krang did in this show! its what makes it fun to watch still

My favorite disses are

"you pathetic peons..

dunderheads!"

dunderheads is my favorite shredder diss. i wish more people used that word!

CyberCubed 08-20-2016 09:53 PM

You really think, "dunderheads" wouldn't be allowed in today's kids cartoons?

You do realize today's kids cartoons have sexual innuendo, adult humor, gay/lesbian moments, character deaths, betrayal, sense of loss, depression, etc?

You should visit tumblr sometime. They educate you on this stuff.

I always liked "two toed twits!" from the Mutagen Man episode.

CyberCubed does make a good point. Cartoons were definitely way more PC back in the 1990s (no thanks to stupid network censors).

"Let me give you a hand, or better yet a finger" is best used out of context.

But yeah, most of Shredder's insults are child's play compared to what has been in kid's shows, and not even for the current decade. Just look at Animaniacs and Freakazoid, and not even for their insults. OT TMNT came out in the time of hypersensitivity. This is the show that "ninjas" couldn't be in the title in the UK. This is from the time that Leonardo couldn't use his swords unless they were against robots. This is from the time Michelangelo's nunchucks were replaced with a grappling hook.

If an insult doesn't work for comedy's sake, it is either tasteless or really, truly offensive.

This is the point we're at with insults as points of humor these days. Where a character's voice actress can set up a twitter account for their character an do this:

I dont remember any Shredder insult off the top of my head but the others are right. Today's cartoons, and TV in general, is not overly PC.

A lot of people just like thinking movies and stuff used to be so much more "edgy" or "relaxed".

Political Correctness is pretty much the same as it was 20 or 30 years ago. Theres a few select moments here and there where something obviously wouldn't be allowed today but you really have seek them out.

CyberCubed 08-20-2016 11:59 PM

Shredder saying things like, "Mutant morons" and "Those blasted Turtles!" must have scared soccer mom's in the 80's out of their minds.

My favorite is "Krang, you oversized prolapse, where the f*ck is the remote?!"

What were they thinking? That would never be allowed today!

What is complicated about it? LOL I think you meant "compilation" Cubed. But there were quite a few then that would still fly now.

That had nothing on Michaelangelo calling Bebop "pork puss" in The Big Rip Off. Easily the funniest moment in the whole show for me.

Off the top of my head, Shredder's line "I'll cut you into fish bait and feed you to the sea slugs" to Bebop and Rocksteady in Bye, Bye Fly. I think that was the funniest insult made by Shredder.

Donatello calls themselves amphibians in one episode too. The writers didn't do any research.

When in Shredder's dirty mouth did he ever say that? I gotta see it!

Also I still use most of their insults today. It kinda depends on how you say it. It doesn't matter. Kids are so dumb now they wont recognize what you said and just take it as offensive cause you said something they didn't know.

Sick use of irony, bro.
