Super strenght?

Hello,

I wonder if we can consider the TMNT having superstrenght?

I'm not talking about Superman's strenght, or Spiderman's strenght, but the turtles being stronger than a normal human being.

They run fast and jump high, so we could consider their muscles are stronger, but do you remember explicite examples where they broke chains easily (for example)

And I'm excluding Micheal Bay's turtles, because they're like 3 times bigger than other incanations and they play football with Karai in the subway (was it Karai?)

Well they have strong plastrons and shells to protect them and they are mutant beings. It has been said before that they do have more strength than normal humans due to many factors but they do pretty much have superior strength

I don't really think they're meant to be stronger than humans outside of the Platinum Dunes movies, at least not stronger than what humans can through training. I remember that the future version of the Turtle Titan was inspired by the old Turtle Titan, as he was an example of a superhero without any superhuman qualities, if anything that statement would imply their physical potential is below that of human beings.

All four of them lifted up a car overhead once in the OT...iirc. They also managed to push Baxter's van up stairs and Donatello ripped the door off effortlessly. I always figured they were stronger than average humans in general since they were mutated.

Ok I have to ask... what OT stands for??

So we can compare the turtles to Daredevil or Batman, who don't have (physical) superpowers but move as fast as superpowered people.

Original Toon (I think). The 1987 series.

"Old Toon", "Old Turtles", "Original Toon", whatever. Personally I'd recommend you'd call it "The Fred Wolf cartoon" or "FW" instead, it fits better better with the terms "4Kids" and "Nick" for the other cartoons.

With the exception of abnormally huge humans (wrestlers, bodybuilders, Olympic figures, all of whom nearing or past 7' tall). I'd say the turtles do have superior strength. Their muscles can and do build up more quickly and with less effort than it would take an average human to do.

Peak Human Condition.

Definitely stronger than the average human but not really super strength (except the Bay TMNT).

Candy Kappa 08-25-2016 03:46 AM

The Bay Turtles are Golden-Age Superman strong.

They all have super strength in my eyes. In every series they can jump in the air like one level or so, and they can jump off buildings and land on their feet. May not be superman but def mightier Hanna human.

They're ninjas. Ninjas train hard, and are thus stronger, faster, and more agile than your average human, who does not undergo ninja training. So if your definition is "____ than average human", yes. If you are asking "____ than humanly possible", maybe? Probably depends on the particular incarnation.
