Baxter Stockman: Playmates - Do Him Right!

We know we all want a Baxter Stockman figure. Well, at least most of us do. And there's some debate on how exactly he should be offered. Well, lets throw my idea up and see how she flies. :)

Baxter Stockman - Deluxe Figure - $24.99 MSRP

Contains: Baxter Stockman w/ cloth labcoat and handheld scanner
2 Interchangable Left Forearms (normal and robotic).
3 Interchangable Heads (Normal, Eyepatch, Eyepiece w/ Neckbrace)
Baxter's Robotic Wheelchair (from Return to New York)
Baxter's Exo-Armor Bodysuit (from Return to New York)

Since It's uncertain if Baxter's legs are intact or not in RtNY, I would suggest making them removable so he can connect to the wheelchair better. Without having to make it oversized for to accomidate the figure.

Stockman...

They should just go ahead and make hima mutant or something.....Oh....he should be a fly, that would be completely cool.

No, hahah, j/k

I think 25$ is way too much.

I don't think so. Look at the Battle Shell. Maybe they could do it for $20.00. Basically this is nearly the same size. And comes with a figure. You're average figure is $5.99. And then you're getting a cloth labcoat, 2 extra heads, an extra forearm, and his lil electirc wheelchair deal. And then the giant robot bodysuit with firing missles, grasping claws, etc. Well worth the price. :)

you got a good idea vintage, but i would even mind having a plane jane paxter stockman with lab stuff. no diferent heads or suitsa, but your idea is beter.

cool idea, but no, I can see kids buying that, coveing him in blood and having the parents freak out and back lash aginst the company for no reason at all

They freacked out over Al Snows manicine head with his toy (severed head my butt), so just imagine if they give us the ability to cut off legs

GK Punk 10-16-2003 09:12 AM

Yeah I remember that... They thought "Head" Was a severed woman's head. "WOMEN BEATER WOMEN BEATER" They all cried. In reality, head was just a Maniquin head -_-

I have that Al Snow toy! Rock on! I got it just before it was pulled from shelves! I remember they had the same type of head changing thing with Chameleon from Spider-Man. You could pull off his head and replace it with Spidey or JJJ. It was kinda dumb though cause Chameleon changes his whole body, not just the head. It would work for Stockman though.

I don't think so. Removable limbs on figures is quite commen now a days. The Star Wars line is a good example. Removable heads, arms, hands. And there are other lines that do it. It's not like it would be shown gruesome. The legs/lower body would just pop apart, so he could plug into his lil wheelchair doo-hickey. :)

 I hate cloth outfits for action figures. It gives me premonitions of the 'someday-will-be' ghetto Barbie with an entire wardrome valued at 5 cents cuz they're all made twice as cheaply. They always look bad on things that are supposed to have threatening attributes. ... But, what do I care? I don't collect figures anymore!

cqb101 10-16-2003 01:46 PM

Really cool idea! Prett much what I was thinking!

Kid Icarus 10-16-2003 01:52 PM

They could offer Baxter and his wheel chair and exchangeable bodyparts as one figure, and then sell his android body suit mecha thing as a vehicle...

Look at all the stuff the Nanotech monster has... i think they could do it. they might have to cut the cloth labcoat though ;).

Mr. Snackpants 10-16-2003 01:59 PM

I doubt they would make a figure with so many removable limbs. But it would be cool!!! To bad they didnt just make a regular baxter in the beggining and an exskeleton one now.

I dont think we should care what the parents think about toys..the worst that could happen is the toys would be banned..and they will be worth more.

Bry 10-16-2003 04:15 PM

Your idea is sweet, but it probably makes more sense from a financial standpoint to just release a number of seperate figures. Two 'regular' versions of Baxter (one where he's 'intact', and another in the wheelchair) and a 'Deluxe Edition' Robo-Baxter.

Though I'd be happy to just get any Baxter figures at all.

Cascadia 10-16-2003 05:09 PM

nice idea....but $20 should be more accurate for the price.

OA 10-19-2003 11:46 AM

Yea, I would definately like to have a regular fig and a deluxe figure. You would think they would come up with a regular figure considering that are gonna have figs of characters such as the Titan...i guess we have to cross our fingers and wait....

Mr. Snackpants 10-19-2003 01:31 PM

I think they should make a big robot baxter, and have it open up and be able to take baxter out(in his labcoat), to be his regular figure. So its like a 2in1 kinda thing.

Anarchistguy 10-20-2003 05:56 PM

I've wrote to Dan Berger about this and he said that Playmates has NO plans to make Baxter Stocman at the moment.
