SOUND CLIP TIME!!!!!!!!!

Now, on a related note to the title of this episode, last year during one of my Latin classes, there was mention of an "evil eye" in one of the Latin stories we read. I said in a rather morbid voice, "CURSE OF THE EVIL EYE!!!!". She said, "Yes! That's right!", I had the gall to confess, "Actually, I got that from the name of a TMNT episode..."

Needless to say, she got a little giddy at that mention (she was in high school in the 80s, go figure).

Bowser_Koopa 10-24-2003 07:27 AM

heh i don't remember that episode  , maybe cause in spanish they NEVER mention the episode's title, if they do they completly change to something different, (ze silly mexican translator), could u decribe it a lil' bit?

Read about it.

Good episode. Lots of action in it - like that mudman and electricity man that fights turtles and Shredder. Plus it's also fun to see Baxter try to stand up to Shredder once he has the helmet - even without magical help, Shredder still gets the better of him.

A DEFINIING episode, final part of the "Eye of Sarnoth" saga, good development for some characters, Baxter turning breif traitor

CLASSIC

This was a great episode!!!!! Baxter turning against Shredder, Blochit and his orange cat Mortimer  , it was preety hillarious and if I remember correctly it had some good action in it too!

This also led very well into Baxter turning into a fly...

MW8979 10-25-2003 08:16 AM

Come to think of it, it's kinda strange how Shredder got tired of Baxter so quickly, but yet he put up with Bebop and Rocksteady's incompetence for ages.

I can't help but wonder if Irma and Bloget have ever gone out. They seemed plenty compatible, except he's abit more nerdy than her.

Lets not start that again

MW8979 10-25-2003 04:30 PM

I'm pretty sure it's "Zarnoth", that's what it sounded like to me. Just too bad the show's writers didn't include the name of the crystal in the episode title - it would certainly help put these debates to rest.

Lisardo 10-28-2003 12:46 PM

Yeah they do seem compatible, hehe! But yeah that ep, infact the entire Zarnoth series was good. For the longest time I thought it was pronounced Sarnoth, with a 'S' instead of with a 'Z'. The only way i knew it was 'Z' is cuz I put the closed captions on my tv for a sec, lol!

I was gonna say, I think Bloget's VA (voice actor) is the same as Michaelangelo's in that series, Townsend Coleman. I know Townsend did the voice of Zack 'The Fifth Turtle's' older brother. Cant' remember his name.

I don't know whay you keep arguing about it.... The episode guide on official site is fan made, and people at Mirage hardly give any tought to correct the mistakes in it.

So I am with the Zarnoth people.

Nturtle 10-28-2003 04:57 PM

Yeah, Zarnoth for life! wOOt!

Leo656 10-28-2003 05:00 PM

You can count me firmly in the "don't give a sh*t" category, where I also place myself in the "The Shredder and/is Splinter/ed" debate. If only the people making the old show were a bit more handy with a spellcheck we wouldnt have these arguments. :P

Brinatello 10-29-2003 11:56 PM

I thought the episode was kind of silly and the TMNT didn't look too cute. They looked goofy. And that Blodgett guy was a real dork, or like an early version of Howie. Is this also the episode where the TMNT are on the Turtle Blimp with golden shields and the dialogue goes like this:

Raphael: Golden shields from ancient Rome, huh?
Donatello: Uh-huh. And don't try to ding them up, okay? They need to be returned to the museum by morning.

I dunno, that piece of dialogue stuck in my head for years.

Deathknight 10-30-2003 08:11 AM

the spelling is "sarnoth," thank you close captions. This episode was one of the greatest episodes of the original series. After Shredder losing his helmet it kept on changing possessions and watching how different people used the eye's power. I wish I had something like that, I'd turn rocks into 100 dollar bills.
