The Fate of Mirage Comics

So it has been years since #32 of volume 4 of Mirage comics no other Mirage Issues have been added since Peter Laird was burning out and he seems to have little interest in finishing volume 4. If he does finish Volume 4 he would eventually retire and Mirage Studios would retire as well since he left the series on a cliffhanger and would love to finish volume 4 since he sold TMNT to viatcom. I mean Mirage Purists are still bitter about this so if Laird does decide to finish volume 4 as the final of Mirage Comics they would feel at least closure that Mirage TMNT has ended for good with plotlines resolved.

I doubt we'll see a Vol 4. conclusion. Not all things gets a deserved ending and just stops, and sadly that happened to Mirage's TMNT

lol that's an interesting way to get the thread going. If it works, though.

How about you need some chill pills and accept reality.

AquaParade 01-18-2019 04:07 PM

I'd love to read a conclusion, but fortunately, I think the series still works quite well without one. I love all the ambiguous hints to the future throughout Mirage. It's hard to explain but it imbues the story with a sense of realism to me, in that we dont truly know where the characters end up but are given hints/clues and left to decide for ourselves.

I'm sure many people do. I would be surprised as well if IDW don't have something planned for that when they cross that bridge.

Maybe we will see volume 4 get a re release that includes a conclusion through IDW like they did with the Image series. At this point, that may be the only way we ever get to see that story finished.

I agree. There's no need whatsoever to call people bitter over a freakin' comic book

Sharman 05-30-2019 06:39 AM

I'm a person who needs resolution. The smallest of incomplete plot-lines leave me inconsolable.

I definitely wouldn't consider myself "bitter" about the situation. I'm hopeful that we'll one day get a conclusion and I'll be mildly disappointed if we never do, but I'm not bitter about it. If the comics were left in their current state, it wouldn't sour me on the property in the slightest. I enjoy it now and I'll enjoy it even more if we ever get a conclusion.

I sincerely wish that even if we weren't getting V4 concluded we would get some Mirage TMNT. I really miss the vibe that the Mirage stuff had. IDW is great, but it has a completely different tone. When I read the Mirage books, it's like listening to a great record, you feel the artists in the material.

Even Tales starting up again would make me happy.
