Does Krang count as a second arch-enemy?

in most versions Krang is one of the main villains of the TMNT franchise alongside Shredder and in some incarnations such as the 2012 series and out of shadows film he replaced shredder as the main villain and even in some of the IDW comics he had a role in the turtles origins and had become their most personal enemy in some versions next to Shredder and in their injustice 2 appearance Krang was their arch-enemy with Shredder being his right-hand which is kinda weird to see since Shredder was their usual main villain in the franchise but dang. I mean most superheroes and non-superheroes have more than one arch-enemy like Batman has both Joker and Ra's Al ghul and Spider-man has both Green Goblin and Doc Ock as well as Superman having both Brainiac and Lex Luthor. It looks like TMNT has now two arch-enemies in the franchise and those are Shredder and Krang.

Mirage: No
Fred Wolf: Yes
Archie: No (was in it barely and not an arch enemy)
Original trilogy + 2007: No
4Kids: No
PD Films: Yes
IDW: Yes
Nick2012: No ("Krang" is not a character in that)
Rise: No

Looks like it's mostly "nos," so not really. Give Nickelodeon enough time and Fred Wolf recyclings, though, and I'm sure he would win the long game.

When Krang or the Kraang stand alone, definately.

So it's okay for you to make Shredder their default arch-enemy?

I'm kind of OK with them having no "arch enemy." That is a construct of, like, traditional superhero stuff. The TMNT are not that, or at least they're not supposed to be that. They're not even supposed to be "heroes."

Nah they are now due you always live in the past and in later incarnations they evoloted from that and did you read volume 2,3,and 4, plus spin-offs? now in Archie and IDW comics plus tv shows, movies, and video games pretty much made them superheroes at this point so just accept it dude. Also Mirage was more of a turtles trying to live daily lives and in archie and idw their fight bad guys.

Mirage/Image, all four volumes, the Turtles are NEVER heroes. They're heroic, but they're not heroes.

Hell, I wouldn't even say they're heroes in IDW.

Well they aren't superheroes but yeah they are in some tv adaptions. They were freaking parodies of Daredevil a superhero dude. Also even no superhero stories have arch-enemies.

They have never been superheroes with powers in any adaptation, except the Japanese OVA (and the Superturtles on alternate Earth).

Both Kevin and Peter have flat out said that TMNT is not a "parody" of Daredevil, or anything else. Elements of homage do not a parody make. Not that that's relevant.

They aren't crime fighters, nor would they have any reason to be.

Well true they still fought villains though in every continuity regardless that was mirage, then archie, and now idw.

Of course. But it's one thing to actively patrol for villains, seeking out villains and looking for crimes to stop (i.e., fighting crime and being a hero) and another to be trained all your life to kill one man, and then occasionally run into "bad guys" who you run afoul of and have to kill.

Well that was Mirage comics and they still do kill in IDW but rarely and archie did have some deaths but that was it Shredder was still a crimelord dude. Also You need stop reminding people we already know about Mirage it was an early installment weirdness.

The turtles' original Fred Wolf ambition was to find the ones who turned Hamato Yoshi into a rat, and force him or her (they didn't know who at the time) if he or she was still alive to turn their sensei back into Human again.

So who was it? Shredder I presume?

I'd consider the IDW case as "questionable". He's important to the overall narrative as his actions have serious consequences and appears a lot in the first 20 issues. However after those first 20 he doesn't really show up that much. He has a meeting with Shredder to foreshadow the Technodrome arc, once that 4 issue arc is up he's thrown in prison. Then (aside from a flashback) it takes another 25 issues or so for him to appear and he pretty much only does so to... Well, see for yourself:

The only "appearence" so far after that is clearly an hallucination.

Fair Enough Even Shredder got his own mini series in the afterlife while Krang isn't seen so far in the Shredder in Hell mini series.

Yeah even the FW series made a point to show that difference by having an 'actual' superhero turn up.

But in the season 2 or 3 episode where Donatello is able to turn Splinter(it only lasts for like an afternoon) human again Splinter ends up giving up on the idea of becoming a human again because he found humans were assholes. SO he ends up happily living as a mutated rat for the rest of his life.

There was also the idea of defeating Shredder and making Splinter the leader of the Foot Clan once again, although at some point what was even the Foot Clan anymore, anyway? Shredder, Krang, bebop and Rocksteady and a bunch of robotic foot soldiers? In Turtle Tracks we know that Shredder's Foot Clan was terrorising Japan and had turned into a criminal organisation. What ever happened to that? Never was mentioned again.

I don't know if they were considered the Foot Clan, just Shredder's allies (same with Bebop's and Rocksteady's gang and Baxter Stockman).
