All people with experience with mirage tmnt comics!
 

So im bying volume 1 and 2 next week(only volume 1 costs near 200$ ouch!) Is there anything else worth buying like tales of tmnt or turtle soup or something like that?

$200? Well, if you're getting the whole volume, which is over sixty comics. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not, I don't pay much attention to the price or value of comics aside from "Can I afford it?"

I've never read Tales of TMNT or Turtle Soup but I hear they've got great stories, some which are part of the continuum. Plus the Turtles' individual mini-series'.

it's a pretty good deal cause 5-62 are first prints and Near Mint condition!

HMMMMM...well, i too have readed some tmnt comics, but i don't know about prices...and i agree with you, this is a weird place indeed.

I've read the comics and that sounds like a fairly decent deal. In my opinion Tales of the TMNT is worth the purchase as well. As are the one shot issues for all four Turtles (Raphael #1 + Leonardo #1 especially).

Unfortunately many of the issues in Volume 1 are written by guest writers which have no bearing on the storylines but some are very enjoyable on their own right (check out Michael Zulli's 3 parter).

I only own two or three Vol. 1 Mirage comics, but I do have several of the collected books. I know that first print, NM are rather expensive, especially the first ten comic books. However, the much later comics aren't as expensive even if they're in NM condition. I guess it all depends on what condition you're willing to collect comics in. Overall, I'd say it sounds like a decent price.

Btw, I agree with RK. The Raph one shot was totally killer. ;) I'm planning on getting the other ones eventually...

And yes, this is a very weird place. I knew that ever since I first set foot in here. :anime:

I liked the raph one a lot...but that's probably because raph and casey are two of my favorite characters :goofygri: but it was awesome!

hrmm *does math* Hrm... $3.50 times 60 equals... $210. Yeah... you could say getting the whole set for $200 could be worth it, esp since I've seen many of the early TMNT issues go for $5 or $10 dollars. (O course, I haggled with the dealer to bring down the price since I was getting a few)

But hey, if you got $200 lying around, go for it! I have all but a few comics shy of having the complete Mirage Vol 1 set, and the toher specials that came out during that time. Mmm.. Turtle Soup is veeewy yummay!

oh.. just so yah know... Turtle Soup has one special run that came out one year, then a four set series was done a year or so later. So, in theory, there are two #1 Turtle Soup issues available.

i have noticed! so the one separete one is same that the first one in 4 series

get the City at War series! i've almost got the complete 13-issue series myself, but someone else snatched up the ones i havn't gotten yet. :evil: oh, speaking of tmnt comics, i finally got my hands on some old archie comics. they're pretty good. less intense, but certainly entertaining.

I like the Archies! Especially the ones where Ken Mitchroney does all of the drawings. :tgrin:

Yeah i liked the archie too. But nowdays i like mirage much more...

well, not only kali, the thing is that we don't see many comics in here, i can only read them thanx to the internet, if when kid i could have had comics, i would have rad them all the time :) i only had one, it was am archie, and i didn't even get it in my city i got in a trip :cry:

What about volume 2 or bodycount mini series? Are they good?

I will admit, I never read the Bodycount series. I do hav all of Vol 2 though.
Jim Lawson inked and wrote the story for that.. so the plot is kinda, strange to say the least. But I Liked it okay. It'a all in color too.

Volume 2 is pretty cool it gets a little far fetched at times but it does include a lot of cool returning characters.

As for Bodycount, it can best be described as a gorefest. There's not much to it except page after page of people being stabbed, shot, and blown apart. It's certainly different but not spectacular.

Also check out issue #28 of Volume 1. Jim Lawson did the art in that one. It's certainly one of the most touching issues I've read.
