For real though, the art actually looks really good. Excited to see where this goes.

Why did it have to be Power Rangers, I can't stand Power Rangers.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 07-15-2019 12:00 PM

Love the art, don't care about Power Rangers or most crossovers. But this will probably sell quite well anyway.

Enjoy, you Power Rangers fans, you. :tlol:

I'm curious as to whether these Mighty Morphin' Rangers are in-canon with the TV series, and thus... will this be a prequel to the Next Mutation Turtles-Power Rangers in Space crossover episodes?

MikeandRaph87 07-15-2019 12:23 PM

I quit Power Rangers with the TMNT crossover episode and only the Boom! series made me look at it again. I know I said it a million times. It was a spit in the face of the original six and Ninja Turtles as I knew them. This is what the 90s' kid in me wanted and no there was no competition with the TMNT losing steam to Power Rangers I freaking loved them both and TMNT was always my #1. Tommy in green and the Green Team in the same image that I did not draw in the early to mid 1990s'? 21 years later Power Rangers gets redeemed. After Boom!'s success and crossing over with the Justice League and TMNT having several crossovers it was inevitable to happen. The 90s' kid and mega TMNT fan and former MMPR fan in me is excited for this. Maybe the TMNT can take a lead of the two featured and not get dragged through the mud this time around too,but I doubt it since we have Boom! apparently writing it instead of the preferred IDW. No Andros or Venus to ruin it all either.

Can't be any worse then the Batman crossovers.

Loved both as a kid so it should be a fun story. Imagine Rita growing Bebop and Rocksteady...she might win actually.

The first one was great and so was the first five or the six animated issues.

Why Rita when you can have Lord Zedd?

I can confirm that the Boom Studios Rangers are an alternative reality to the original TV series; many elements remain the same but ultimately it is quite different.
I've read up to the conclusion of the Shattered Grid arc and it's pretty good but I'm strictly a Zordon era fan and the inclusion of many later ranger characters put me off reading further due to a lack of familiarity, that and I don't have the time to catch up on 20 years of episodes.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Hasbro Power Ranger Lightning Collection is super good. I hope this will lead to Hasbro TMNT figures in the future...

“Drawn by beyond the grid artist”

Crap.

"The Power Rangers arrive in New York City to find Tommy Oliver - AKA The Mighty Morphin Green Ranger - but soon discover he's joined forces with the villainous Shredder and the Foot Clan! As the Rangers are sent reeling by this betrayal, they're confronted by another (fr)enemy - the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Can these heroes find a way to work together to defeat the bad guys and save the world from total destruction?!"
Never really thought too much about Power Rangers geography/world, and never really thought about what real-life cities would be included on their world. Looks like they have a New York City!

Also... Angel Grove, California was founded by the British in 1775? In the show, it always looked like a small town, community where everybody knew everybody's business... until the big monster battles took them through the urban metro!

Will this be non-canon like the Batman crossovers?

Yes, if both participants in a crossover are IDW then it would be cannon, but if one of the participants are not IDW published then it is considered non-cannon like how Power Rangers is published by Boom!.

Now this is something I've been waiting for! Really surprised its taken this long to make it happen

A pity, Power Rangers had some damn good seasons afterwards that you missed out on.

Allio 07-15-2019 03:03 PM

Definitely. Space, Time Force, and RPM is essentially the best.

Cryomancer 07-15-2019 03:35 PM

There's s quote in that article that goes " And that thing you’re really hoping we’ll do? Yeah, that’s in here, too.”

What the hell does that even mean? I'm familiar with both franchises and I'm drawing a total blank here. Transforming TMNT? TMNT getting robots? What? There is no obvious thing coming to my mind.
