Question about the shells.
You don't have to be a rocket-scientist to know this, it's common sence; all members of the tortise family sleep inside their shells. But the turtles don't. This may sound like a stupid question but; if the turtles can duck their heads inside their shells in the movies, why do they not sleep inside them like all normal turtles do?
Because they're not normal turtles. They're mutants.
look at the size of their arms and legs....they wont fit.
Exactly. They aren't normal turtles. And even if they can, by some anatomical miracle, manage to duck their head into their shells in their humanoid form (nice bit of movie magic in the movies, but I can't see how they'd be able to do that with how big their heads were), I really can't see how they'd get the rest of their limbs in there.
not only that, but i would take the cozy comfort of a memory foam pillow over the inside of a hard shell any day! Turtles sleep inside their shells for protection against other animals. The NINJA Turtles don't need to do that, because well, they relay on more than their tortise features.

And you call yourselves TMNT fans...
Look at my reply in Relay's thread ;) |
If I recall, the original toon had acouple of moments where Michaelangelo would duck his head and all four limbs into his shell. He normally did this to protect himself when he was falling.
I think (if I recall correctly) that Don went inside his shell in Image #2 when he was falling into the city. I know Image is not "official continuity" but it is still cool.
they probably sleep outside of their shells, so that people will ask, "why?"
