Marvel Studios Vision Quest in the works

Quote:

A second WandaVision spinoff series focusing on Paul Bettany’s Vision is in the works at Marvel Studios for Disney+, sources tell Deadline.

Titled Vision Quest, the potential series, which is opening a writers room next week, will be about The Vision (Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity, I hear. While the focus is on Vision, word is there is a possibility for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU.

Like with the other WandaVision spinoff, the greenlighted series Agatha: House of Harkness headlined by Kathryn Hahn, Vision Quest is overseen by WandaVision creator, writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer, I hear. Reps for Marvel Studios and Bettany declined comment.

Wandavision was flawed, but it was probably the best of the MCU shows, so I'm interested

Who is even Agatha in the actual Marvel Comics? She feels like a made-up character though I assume she has to be a Marvel character.

Honestly, skip that crap and just work on Vision, the actual Avengers character.

She was chiefly a supporting character in Fantastic Four comics. Always babysat Franklyn Richards when he was younger.

Marred only by a COVID-hampered ending, IMO. Same as Falcon & The Winter Soldier, but in a completely different way.

WandaVision is the only Disney+ show that I’m interested in watching again someday. At least, so far.

The sitcom angle was actually well executed and felt super fresh for the MCU. It was something different and it worked. Loved that. And the writing was on point, which is one of my big issues with the MCU of late - the script. But I loved the dialogue in this show.

Hope this one is good too.

Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.

Terry Matalas? Well then we know it's going to be awesome. However... I'd much rather he was busy doing Star Trek: Legacy?

James Spader is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Emmy-winning actor is set to reprise his role as the voice of robotic villain Ultron in Marvel Studios’ untitled Vision series, the follow-up series to its acclaimed WandaVision show. He first played the role in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Interesting. We never did see what Vision did to Ulton in Age of Ultron's end. It looked like atomize him but... did he absorb him instead? Send him to another dimension?

THR is reporting that Todd Stashwick (Star Trek: Picard) has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Vision Quest (not the official title) series in an undisclosed role. While his character is not named, the trade believes Stashwick will play "an assassin who is on the trail of android and the technology he possesses."

Oh, it's going to be great. Terry Matalas is amazing, coming off of Picard season 3.

CyberCubed 08-15-2026 11:50 AM

This is the last Marvel TV show (not counting Daredevil Season 3). After this, there aren't anymore Marvel TV shows based on the movies announced. Looks like the TV shows are finally ending.

IMJ 08-15-2026 12:43 PM

They'll release some 4k "trilogy" of the Vision-Wanda stuff when it's over. Maybe worth pirating, not worth buying.

I didn't even bother watching the Agatha show.

Nobody did, really.

I sat and watched the first episode. Hm... it's not SUPER engaging but it's well put together and it does set up the rest adequately. It does set up the non-gay son well. I'll keep watching of course. I don't doubt Terry Matalas will deliver.

Andrew NDB 10-15-2026 02:28 PM

Episode 2. Wow, "adamantium rounds." So we're here.

Andrew NDB 10-22-2026 02:37 PM

Episode 4 now. The Disney+ tropes are starting to pop in. The son is bisexual now (and the brother is gay? what are the odds?!) and here arrives a strong black woman version of Vision, who is stronger than Vision and Ultron and able to beat both of them up.
