Should we get "white Baxter Stockman" back as compensation for black April?

In all seriousness I always liked Baxter's human design in the original cartoon. Just feels kinda unique to me now that Baxter is always black.

Compensation?

Fair to dislike what some version does with a character...but no one needs compensating for the choices of a cartoon.

It's proper representation. You take away one of the core white characters of the franchise (April, the Turtles main human friend), then there should be no problem using white Baxter Stockman again someday.

I mean in the Nick 2012 cartoon Rocksteady was a Russian general. They already changed Rocksteady's race from just a normal white guy from New York to a Russian.

And having one token female character much of the time has never been proper representation of the world either, but never wanted existing characters changed to compensate that, so not really moved by your argument, sorry. :tsad:

edit: For the record, I don't care if someone uses that Baxter again. But the idea of having to be paid back because they made April black is kinda cruddy.

Probably not gonna happen. I think the only reason they made him white in the ‘87 cartoon is that Shredder and Baxter had a master/slave relationship and it would look racist if he was black.

Also don’t forget the Playmates Mutatin’ Bebop toy was a white guy with orange hair. Not sure why they did that.

I think they wanted to make him a parody on Albert Einstein, the stereotypical image of a scientist. His Mirage counterpart hadn't appeared in many issues back in 1987, so it was not a big deal.

Nickelodeon Rocksteady is still as white as his Fred Wolf counterpart. I just think Nickelodeon gave him a more (at least acording to me) interesting backstory.

I genuinely wouldn't mind a white Baxter Stockman again. I really liked how he looked like a blonde and more wimpy version of Doc Brown from Back to the Future.

I really don't care what race he is. April is a main cast member so it tends to be more noteworthy, I don't find it very comparable.

The only way I'd bring back a white Baxter design would be to have Barney Stockman brought back as his half brother. But I'd just prefer to have Dr Quease instead.

Headcanon: 87 Baxter is actually black, he just suffers from vitiligo.
