Which Mirage run did you like more?

Vol. 4 or Tales Vol. 2?
|
Volume 4. It was slow but I still found it interesting. It knew the characters and took them seriously while advancing the plot and doing some interesting world building. I wanted to know what was up with Splinter’s resurrection and just how strange Donatello was going to end up being.
The art lost something as it went along but the early issues look great. I like the idea of Tales but most of it didn’t click with me in execution. Definitely some highlights though. |
For me, it's Tales of the TMNT. It had some real gems in there like "Blind Faith", "Gang Wars", "Day in the Life" and so on.
I almost liked Vol. 4 but I really wasn't a fan of what happened to Raph, and April turning out to be a drawing from Kirby's magic crystal. |
Tales. Vol. 2 has a lot of great stories and hidden gems nobody ever talks about. I guess because the series weirdly doesn't have as much nostalgia for it that it's overlooked.
|
I still prefer dark future of Tales Vol.2 over 2k3 SAINW or IDW Last Ronin. The Turtles, the villains and others, doesn't matter now. The world is dying slowly and everyone is doomed.
|
Tales of the tmnt vol 2 for sure volume 4 had potential but some things didn’t sit right with me like April being a living drawing for example like wish it got a reprint from idw . image run got to be finished properly so hopefully we get volume 4 finished and reprinted too along with forever war form Archie.

Tales v2 was a lot of fun.
Volume 4 was a lot of... waiting. |

Tales had some bangers but also some real stinkers. Vol. 4 was... something.

I like that Mirage turtles future fates doesn't need to be downright miserable or die in battle.
Leo became a buddisht and may reach Nirvana. Donnie died peacefully. Mikey's fate is still unknown. Raph's fate could be the worst. He becomes more savage, and wanders the world. But maybe that's his way of life. |
