How did the old tmnt cartoon end?

All I heard is the final episode was in 1996 and it was called divide and conquer?

What happens in that one and how did it end??

Drtooth 12-11-2003 03:13 PM

I never really liked that show. Back in 1997 they where showing it the same thing everyday. They keped on showing the last 3 episdoes.

Dregg gets thrown into Dimension X portal attached to Krang's body which is about to explode and you're supposed to assume that Dregg got destroyed I guess. Although they could've easily had more episodes, it was just that CBS wanted a more "educational" cartoon lineup. Not like I was upset to see the series end though, Dregg ruined the show IMO.

ZariusTwo 12-11-2003 05:09 PM

Dregg was a ridiculous character, created only because the producers believed Krang and Shredder were no longer neccersary.

Cascadia 12-11-2003 05:17 PM

the final scene is that they can handle anything.....except for Donatello's cooking...

Drtooth 12-11-2003 07:01 PM

The final season was the first one I skipped! Around the second to last season, I didn't watch it anymore (possibly because it was also opposite Freakazoid or the tick or something...) Once they replaced Rob Paulsen as raph's voice, the show fell and fell fast!

I mean, I did watch even when they had the one shot characters who weren't any good (you know... the ones they ,made action figures of, and wanted to put on the show) but everything with that season (especially changing the theme song to whatever the hell that was) was just completely off....

Deathknight 12-11-2003 09:39 PM

Actually it wasn't because of Raph's new voice. Mentioned in my earlier post it was because CBS wanted a more "educational" Saturday Morning lineup.

I have to agree with drtooth - I watched the show every so often once the red sky eps started airing (I remember watching the ep where Raph gets knocked out during a fight and as they are carrying him back to the van, Donatello makes the comment, "he's so cold!" and thinking to myself, wow, that can't be good when they start taking lines/and somewhat plots from the movie and throwing them on the show), but I stopped watching the day I tuned in and heard someone who definitely wasn't Rob Paulsen voicing Raphael. Grrr.

Turtledude2k3 12-12-2003 03:32 PM

Wow. Seems like tmnt fell apart near the end. At least it lasted 10 seasons which is extremely good for a cartoon.

PizzaPower 12-12-2003 05:25 PM

lets just hope that the new show can last 10 seasons as well and that the FoxBox does not want a more Education programs.

You nkow I liked the read sky serius to. But I DID NOT LIKE SEASON 10. Back in 1997 when I first saw season 10 it was cool. But they never showed re-peats of the other seasons. For 3 hole months every day they kpet on showing seaspn 10 ands that was it.

Lanagirl 12-13-2003 06:44 AM

People didn't like Dregg because of Shredder I guess. Saki san is the best. I love him
I heard that red sky episodes were very sad and even scary? :-?

PizzaPower 12-13-2003 06:53 AM

they where not sad, but yes they shwere scary. My fave part is when they could mutant into a bigger moster like.

Psst..dude, there was nothing wrong with Season 8 of the Red Sky seasons, I give it props for blowing up Channel Six.

If the guy meant EVERY "Red Sky" season, let 'em have it :D

Brinatello 12-13-2003 01:10 PM

Scary? I didn't think the Red Sky eps were scary at all. Although my definition of scary is more towards paranormal, unexplained phenomenon, and the justice system. Well, it is scary! Anyway, those eps were pretty interesting, more sci-fi, and the TMNT were drawn wonderfully....erm, in the 1994 season. April and the TMNT looked the best and then the following year, a big change and it never went back! Wait, am I getting off-topic? Oh, what was Divide and Conqure about....okay. Well, I saw it, but I don't remember exact details. Certainly wouldn't be my way of ending the show. I'd have it go out with a bang. Shows that end with something blowing up usually tells the viewers, "We're done....till further notice" :D

PizzaPower 12-13-2003 05:53 PM

ya in 1994 was great. U rember back in the days when I started to get out of the TMNT because of the way it did end. I always though that they would start some more episdoes, but never happend. I never why they never got season 10 on videos.
