Moral of the story: NEVER use puns.

This wasn’t bad. I like that they are doing these specials (I missed the Summer one). Book must be doing well!

I have to say, I love Michealangelo in the old show and I'm loving him in the comic. While he might not be 'the genius', he was never particularly the 'dumb one' future versions of him would become. I love how they respect that about him.

I also love the clever callbacks and the fact that Michealangelo points out that the Turtles aren't afraid of monsters and whatnot as if they don't exist when they've fought several or them.

Creepy Eddie is trying to work around the logic of his relam? I wonder if that is how Mr. Ogg gets involved shortly because it makes it appear that he is policing the 4th wall and dimensional barriers.

I rewatched few episodes of FW recently and Mike in them is such a breath of fresh air compared to what he was turned into in pretty much every other incarnation.

Its like modern writers can't imagine how you can make funny easy going character without making him act like a brain damaged retard high on coffee.

I notice in several episodes, Mikey is either usually the one to come up with some random idea that solves the issue, or he's usually the first to spot something weird whenever the crew is out of leads.

That's what always rubbed the wrong way when suddenly Raphael started making jokes about how 'dumb' Michealangelo was. Then there was that Wingnut episode with the brain drain device or whatever it was and Mikey said he felt his mind getting numb and Donatello angrily said 'what mind' and I'm like 'well **** you too Donatello, not you too'.

Yeah, that kind of weird, since Mike was nowhere near as dumb as later series and even in relative to other Turtles.

Was it the idea that a surfer personality is equal to borderline retarded as a stock character and since Michaelangelo has something of a personality and a voice of one given by Towensend that Michelangelo is perceived as dumb as Donatello is intelligent? People got the wrong impression that is a druggie? Yes, his fun-loving nature makes him lazy. but no he is not incompetent. He was the most often captured, that annoyed me.

Also, the comic mentions that Shibano-sama was retconned into not being the founder of The Foot Clan. I thought Legend of Koji simply expanded stating that Hamato Koji founded The Foot Clan under the teachings of Shibano-sama, not that he was the actual founder, but the influencer.

The only two times Mikey ever did anything 'dumb' that I can recall, was the one where the Turtles has that remote controlled squid and Mikey wanted a turn, and it ended up helping the Shredder get away, and that one Red SKy episode where the point was for Mikey to 'stop goofing around and get serious' even though he was 'getting serious' alongside the others whenever Red Sky started. That was an infuriating episode.

My thoughts on this one. My god, not only do they make 2 references to Shibano-Sama, they even mentioned the Shibano-Sama/Hamato Koji retcon.

I think Mikey is a literary genius. He always like writing fiction. In Image TMNT, he became a novelist and poetry. In IDW TMNT, his Japanese is the best among the four.
